The scary part of that sentence is that you ordered from octagon AirsoftYou're all scaring me... waiting on my first rif's from Octagon.
And as the importer you'll be the one HMRC go after whether you asked the sender to do it or notGifts are exempt up to £39 - but the old Hong Kong trick of declaring everything as a gift worth 1p increases the odds of customs paying attention
All o.k, released from customs, due tomorrow, no charges. And as the importer you'll be the one HMRC go after whether you asked the sender to do it or not
Had a few orders from them, all working fine and delivery was smooth but they tend to overadvertise their products...with this many years playing airsoft, I ended up only keeping a pistol from themThe scary part of that sentence is that you ordered from octagon Airsoft![]()
Exactly. And as the importer you'll be the one HMRC go after whether you asked the sender to do it or not
My parcel is from boomarms, I don’t think it’s been declared a gift, certainly didn’t ask them to do it. It was sent by EMS.
My parcel from Octagon which has been in customs since the 23rd Feb is due for delivery tomorrow after a lot of back and forth with Border Force. I got stung for £68 which was nice. I've ordered quite a bit from Octagon and never had any issues and this is the same as it's not Octagon but Border Force that caused the delay. I'll be a happy bunny if Parcel Force actually deliver it tomorrow and not to give it away but I do love it when A plan comes together.

Me to, what have you got coming.
Octagon undervalue when declaring everything anyways, sometimes PF take friggin ages to get it past Heathrow customs but it always arrives with no extra charges in my experience, think I’ve ordered around 8 gas rifles through themYou're all scaring me... waiting on my first rif's from Octagon.
It’s always a good idea to leave a comment at check out asking them to declare it as goods and not a gift. I’ve had WGC and MLE Mart declare a £60-£70 order as a gift thinking they were doing me a favour and then I get a £24 import and handling fee on it by PF because they looked at it and it was worth over the £39 gift threshold. When really it was goods. If it is over the £139, most retailers will undervalue it on the customs declaration for you if you ask them. They don’t care about our government taking more tax.Appreciate the replies to my question gents I’m defo gonna give it a go but I’ll keep it under 100 inc postage to be well within what you guys have described
Appreciate the knowledge from the hive mind as always
Shep
Is that a clue?
Yeah I think I’ll try something small ish from the likes of 6mm or something see how that goes
It seems to be such a juggling act with what your buying the value etc then factoring in postage costs which I haven’t investigated yet
Very true I apologise
this is the same as it's not Octagon but Border Force that caused the delay.
That must have been super frustrating !no it was Border Force in this instance as they seized the goods until I could provide I had a defense to the VCRA.
