I've used search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I need a pistol as a side arm it's got to be full metal as I'm a fan of realism. I like modern 1911s with a rail system or Beretta also with a rail. I know TM are meant to be the best but they are not metal. WE Are meant to be pretty good. Not worried about price for a good gun. Any recommendations that fit what I'm after?

Thanks in advance

If you have no budget then TM with a proper metal kit fitted. Zeke, Hurricane, Guarder etc.

Tokyo Marui, or KJW and KWA for metal pistols.

No one recommends WE 1911s or Hi-capa's because they're utter crap.

If you like the 1911, then you may want to look at the Elite Shooting Centre who specialise in TM Hi Capa 5.1 (which I believe is based on the 1911). They can do all sorts of modifications for you. http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/

Edit: A more realistic plain black pistol (they used to do full length RIS rails) http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/Gas%20Guns/Gas%20Pistols/Items/5.1%20Hi%20Capa.htm or http://www.eliteshootingcentre.co.uk/Gas%20Guns/Gas%20Custom%20Pistols/Items/blk%20inf%20TS.htm

I think he wants realism though, and Mike Cripps specialises in race guns :(

Yeah im not keen on those blinged up race guns lol.

KJW P226 then. Purchase a Marui P226 magazine too as the KJ ones don't hold gas.

I'm going to second (Third or whatever) the TM Hi Capa. Without a doubt it's the best pistol about, straight out of the box it'll hit an A4 target at 30 meters. It can take green gas all year round and if you want to modify it there's a world full of upgrades!

Again: The TM Hi-Capa might be one of the best performing pistols out there but it's not in the slightest bit 'realistic' nor iconic if put along side some of the decent M9 and 1911/MEU replicas. We're not really answering OPs question here.

I know you want realismbut may i ask why?

Anyways TM is by far and away the best, stay clear of WE as they are very very dissapointing, i had a WE M9, replaced it with a TM M9 which way out performs it in terms of range, reliability, holding gas, amount of gas used etc.

My TM M9 can range M4 AEGs quite easily even though the FPS is so much lower but its al about the hop.

If i was to recommend to you another brand you could opt for KSC/KWA, i have a lovely full metal KSC M93R which works a dream but is rare as hell, if i didnt get the TM M9 i would have opted for the KSC/KWA M9 as its full metal and much better build than WE.

KSC/KWA M9 on sale from UK Airsoft supplier: http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/gas-blowback-pistols/kwa-ksc-pistols/KWA_KSC_M9.html

I just like the realistic look and feel we can't have actual firearms in the UK so I like to have as close as possible. My ghk m4 is meant to be pretty close to a real M4 so I'd like pistol to be the same. I think I'm going to go the TM route and get a metal body for it.

I have a Glock 17 not used it yet as I'm fraesh meat can you tell me if it's a good side

standby for disappointment putting a metal kit onto a TM 1911, the magazines just don't hold enough gas to empty a magazine most of the time.

If you're after a 'full metal' (FYI, real guns are normally made of steel, not whatever scrap zinc the chinese factory could get!) 1911 then the cybergun/KSC CO2 ones are the only thing I'd recommend.
