Having missed out on the last forum meet up a year or so back at Battle Lakes, and fancying a change from Driver Wood, I'll be popping along this Sunday to try it out. Website seems down at the moment, but they are very quick to respond via facebook (and if the website isn't fixed in time to advance book, you walk-ons can just turn up and pay on the day).

Anyone got any hints/tips to get the best out of the site/day?

I’m at Apocalypse if you fancy it? Battle Lames I’ll only do if I know it’ll be full or it’s too quiet.

Unfortunately apocalypse is a bit too far for me this Sunday, but when i have more time, I’ll give it a go. How do you rate battle lakes (and for that matter, apocalypse)?

Apocalypse is awesome.

Battle Lakes could be awesome. It’s such a big site but doesn’t have the player base. 20 people on that many acres and they don’t change the games to suit so you can be guarding an objective for 45 minutes and nothing happens.

I played and marshalled at Battle Lakes when it used to get 100 or so players. It was a great site, although play was somewhat channeled by the layout.

It started going downhill when it was taken over by Zed Adventures.

I have played there twice since Gunman took over and have to agree with the above; however, it does provide a milsim-lite experience if that is your thing. Last time I went, we had fun patrolling for a while but there just wasn’t enough action. Eventually, a couple of us set off on a sweep into the enemy’s heartland; we encountered three of them.
