I'm asking as many airsoft players, site owners, suppliers and anybody with any association with Airsoft to please complete this attached survey. it's not sales & it's not to collect your personal details. It's for market research for a potential new game site. interesting results so far.

I do not have a Google account so no go.

@ACA does your “market research” for your potential new speedball type site actually need anyone’s email?   You could have an option for just saying which forum instead.

Also you could have run a draft copy here for any comments/thoughts before going live.

Spam scam, no offense but that is my gut feeling on these surveys

They go up on numerous forums by new members

no thanks to links to external surveys - if you have a question start a poll or two

not that it matters much my email on here is an old spare one but I prefer not to ask for more spam

or receive tax refunds from nigerian spacemen etc.....

Good cover asking some questions first coz a brand new member asking a survey on first post raises too many questions

As I said my gut feeling & all that....

no offense etc...

I have been wrong before but still looks suspect

but if you or anybody wishes to complete a survey - admit I haven't even clicked on link

Be my guest by all means & tell me I wrong

Just don't respond to any Tax Office refunds or paypal warnings about suspicious activity etc....

I already have enough viagra companies and fake passport/licenses

Gonna get myself a new UKARA license as soon as the Nigerian spaceship returns with my moon gold

But hey - if I'm wrong you can buy me a drink from your tax refund - just offering a bit of warning that's all

I don’t need people’s e-mail address. I didn’t call it speedball, from reviewing various people’s posts and events I don’t actually believe anybody knows what to call it yet. I didn’t post it as a draft because I expect there to be plent of question to arise from the responses. If you want to offer any suggestions for question then please do so. Do you have any suggestions for how to get people to take the survey who dont have a google account?

Well I filled it in... ?
Thanks Duff, mane you can post that it’s not a scam & is a genuine Airsoft survey.

You could speak to Airsoft Nation as we had spoken in some detail about my idea and how best to get responses. I understand your reservation.

Nope, not signing in with my Google details, sorry
No prob did you want the question in a different way? If so how?

Read through the questions then saw the last ones about a tournament and made me not want to fill it out.... generally I find that with surveys if you read the last couple of questions that says all you need to know about what the person wants to find out.

Tournaments in Airsoft unless its something like 3 gun or practical shooting in my honest opinion is pointless... too many people prepared to cheat to take the kudos of winning.

In regards to the above, mandatory, questions. I have an acronym for you.

GDPR

These answers are classed as personal and identifable information, so with that in mind.

1. How are you storing the raw data?

2. How is the raw data secured from data breaches?

3. Who has access to the raw data?

4. How long will you be keeping the raw data for?

5. How will you be processing the data? Will you be anonymising the data at all?

There are many more question I should ask. But I imagine that will keep you going for now.

I find peoples reactions to this "data mining" quite laughable.

Age bracket and gender, really? What harm is that going to cause anyone. It's not personal data as it's in no way specific.

You'd be surprised what people can do with very little information about people @Duff Habits, routines and information are very powerful things to people who want them. And they will pay big money for pre-collated information like this, that is more or less trust worthy as people have inputted it themselves.

Example 1

Say I put down my age bracket of 48-50+ and gender is female.  That would put me into the category of people who are likely to fall for various technology related scams. A bit closer to home, if someone can work out where I live then they could make a fair assessment as to how much force may be required to subdue me if they wanted to brake into my house.

Example 2

19-26 year old male. - This would put me in a range of people who normally can be easily seduced into giving more information. This can be in the form of coxing info via bragging rights, or giving away too much information about their job or routines.

Now, team age and gender along with profession and you can assume a lot more about a persons routine, and have a higher probability of getting it right.

Example 1

27-33 female. Profession - Nurse

Easy to assume that I work shifts, so out the house for long periods of time, that can normally be fitted into a scheduled.

Example 2

41-47 year old male. Profession - Legal admin

You can assume that I probably work a normal day in the office, but probably bring work home with me on a laptop or paper. With being older, you can assume that I would have more "clearance" in the company so I am probably privvy to more information than a junior member of staff.

From what I can see, these 4 questions are not required for the desired outcome of this survey (which is to make/better an airsoft site?).

To put it simply.

Just because you can collect information, does not mean that you should.

Data mining is never just from a single source. Once you get enough sources of data it's far easier to steal someone's identity. An age from here, a location from there....it all adds up.

So I don’t have to sign in anywhere first
Somebody else in a FB Group I posted the questionnaire in offered a suggestion. "If you don't want to use your own e-mail or don't have a gmail account you could use a disposable email service like https://temp-mail.org"

Really! - Call or message Graham Hoffman at Airsoft Nation Magazine, I spoke to him at length about this on the phone.

Seems legit too me ? ?

I've written a number of different replies to this but deleted them all because I keep coming back to is REALLY!

Aaaaaand I’m out
No problem, you could have spoken to Graham Hoffman of Airsoft nation Magazine to ask if I'm credible.

I had an issue with a parking beat survey I commissioned for a planning application and the pictures in the report showed cars parked in the street, the planners wanted the company to blank-out the number plates so they couldn't be identified despite, they were parked on the public highway for anybody to see. Go figure.

I don't know why you're so hurt that people won't do a survey. If they don't want to, stop begging with all your smartass answers.

How many times do you want to name drop someone? Why don't you ask Novritsch whilst your at it, if he posts it on his YouTube channel you'll get a lot more answers. Stop begging people on here to answer, if they don't want to.
