Right.

First, Please dont get a Sniper Rifle as your first gun It will not be very good unless you upgrade it. Aski Liam how much his L96 cost to get shooting like it should, it was aroun £500 I belive.

A AEG is a much better choice and will be better in the long run.

just so you know my upgraded TM l96 was more then £500 (before scope)..... :-(

Yeah my L96 has cost £520 total. And to be honest, it's still not shooting as I want it to.

There seems to be a lot of people asking questions like this on here and always seem to get the same answer regardless of the exact question asked..

Anyway what people have said is right and Im not arguing but to answer your question when I got my L96 I looked at the M57A and the only real difference I can see is the colour and the manufacturer.

Personally I don't trust Double Eagle as a company because a gun I had from them broke almost instantly so I got the Well L96 (oh and green is much better than orange).

Anyhow my advice, similar to others is:

1) Go to 3 skirmishes hiring weapons and kit.

2) Get a UKARA licence.

3) Have more experience and knowledge before buying a gun. Snipers are good for messing around target shooting and as mentioned before once upgraded are good. Similarly stock snipers can work with a ghillie suit but usually end up with you firing about 2 shots then getting pasted because everyone finds out where you are.

Just want to stick my 2 penneth worth in. Went to my first skirmish sunday and used an M4 hire gun, had a feckin blinding day, most fun I've had that was legal. There was another lad there with a 2-tone vsr-10 lookalike, and he didn't hit a damn thing all day. By the end of the day he looked pretty well dejected. It really won't be much fun for you with a single shot weapon thats outranged by and less accurate than the majority of AEG's on the sight. Maybe compromise and go for something like a G3 SG1 or M14 as a first gun. Just a thought.
