As I generally like to use something a little different, VSS, bizon etc I've been looking at the Sig 55 series

Can anyone shed some light on which ones to go for, avoid etc?

Pros and cons.

browsing classifieds they seem to be a bit of a rarity

any and all help appreciated

thanks

My first airsoft gun was a GHK SIG 553. Love it. Beautiful build quality and finish, utterly reliable, shoots well, good recoil. I run it on CO2 with a Samoon NPAS and a Maple Leaf hop unit, rubber and inner barrel.

Great gun, i'd definitely recommend one. I like the ergonomics, folding stock, 3-round burst, etc.

I've only seen one other one at a game day, they're not very common at all.

I’m also running the ghk sg553
I haven’t changed anything internally other than fitting an npas
It’s the one gbbr that I’ve owned that has given absolutely flawless performance.
Superb build quality and finish, turns heads and always demands attention

Highly recommended 👌

GHK is good if you want a GBB. For AEG you have JG, TM and ICS off the top of my head. The JG and TM are based on the old TM design and work pretty well and can be upgraded to whatever you want it to do. The new TM Sig 553+ is a really nice AEG with a mosfet built in already and is very snappy. The JG and TM models are all plastic. The ICS version is metal and has a split gearbox. Never owned one but knew someone who did and it ran fine. The only issue I found with the Sig was finding midcap magazines as they are like unicorn pooh.
