Hi guys,

I hope I've posted this in the right section as I'm brand spanking new to this...

Im wanting to start airsoft up and have been convinced by a friend who currently plays it. Ive decided to go ahead and give it a shot I've done other things like paintball endless amount of times and can't tell you how much i loved it.

Ive done some research and even spoke to some Airsoft stores and all recommend AEG for a newb like myself. Now interms or purchasing a gun id say i don't want to spend more then £400/500 at most. I don't want something that will need modifying straight away as i need to learn all about this as i go along.

Ive been looking online and seen about 4 guns that i really like

1. Magpul PTS masada

2. G&P M4 Viper GP900M

3. WE Katana Raptor (Red)

4. BOLT KAC SR16

Now my question to the more experienced people here is:

1.Are there any recommendations out of these guns? so to speak are any of them the AUDI or BMW or guns? as i don't know about brand reputation

2. Ive seen some of these guns second hand online that have been extremely modified with receipts to prove including service, and state in perfect condition, are these modified versions risky to buy and more likely to encounter problems then a stock gun?

I would appreciate any feedback possible to help me out guys. Like i said I'm new to this and i don't want to throw my money in the wrong direction so I've come here for some advice to point me in the right direction. Oh and also there is an airsoft shop near me but they don't sell all the guns I've listed to try out.

Read guides in my sig - been asked 1,000's of times

ps - unless you have more money than sense treat airsoft like your first car

sure you can buy a BMW Merc etc.... but most start off with Ford Fiesta/Focus and go from there

if you want two options at different ends of spectrum: G&G & Krytac

there are other options but read them tutorials - they are a goldmine of info

sure buy the best you can get if you got money to splash

just remember:

Fine clothes do not make a gentleman

or

Most of the time it is the player not gun that wins the game/round/battle

(sure a good gun helps - but really good players can hold their own with rather modest guns is what I mean)

welcome to the forum btw

Tired of repeating this (not your fault OP ;) ). So short and sweet it will be.

1: Dont buy. Yet.

2: Rent from sites for awhile - make sure you enjoy the sport

3: Dont worry about clothes yet (see SD^)

4: If you like the sport, get UKARA registered

5: Be prepared to spend every pence you can ever find buying up way more equipment than you could ever need, want, or use, and then do the same with guns, until your friends call you a freak for having so many guns, you social life dissolves as you spend too much time reading every forum post out there back until 1992 in order to make your bb-spitter spit an extra meter, then continue to spend yourself into the ground. (No, im... im not speaking... from experience...)

6:?

7: Profit

;)
