I've bought some sorbo for the cylinder head. It already had a plastic cap glued to the end to protect it from the piston. My question is: do I glue it to the pad on the cylinder head or pick the pad off and glue it directly to the CH?

You can do both.

But be aware that you will need to check the AOE (angle of engagement) after it or it can strip the piston's teeth or break the gears.

why not just check it and remove the material that actually needs to be removed, rather than just do 'what most people say'.

Took the 2nd and 3rd tooth off. Might need to take the 4th off yet but when firing I can't hear any grinding. If it does atleast it'll only be the plastic piston gears that go.

I just dry fired it last night and it sounded alright. I'll shoot some BBs through it tonight and see how she performs.
