    Battlefield 6

PC Builds are a financial commitment. I'm dreading upgrading mine. There's been a few games I'd love to play this year but my GPU hasn't been up to it. I don't want to get a fancy GPU because my CPU won't keep up. Spent 1400 on it in 2018 so I've had a good run I guess. Back then a bottom of the barrel budget GPU was £150, now it's £300. What's annoying (and always has been) is the motherboard socket changing. I am on AMD AM4, AM5 was released in 2022 and they're expecting a new socket change next year. So I don't want to upgraded now (not like I can reasonably afford it anyway) to AM5 and spend on some new ram and cpu for it to be obsolete in no time, but at the same time I don't buy on release, it's too expensive, so I'll be waiting until 27/28 before doing anything.
  2. That's funny you say that because I originally was going to get one of these, hadn't found anything wrong with it to be honest but when I saw what was included the Freya I through it was worth the extra £40. Yeah I'm a tinkerer in my other hobbies so I don't think I'll struggle to keep her running fresh. How is the MP7? what specific model are you using GBB or AEG? This is one of my favorite guns from video games so I would be mighty tempted. How are the ergonomics? Thanks for the info, read about a few issues with the bucking recently after they've changed it to a different one recently. Still considering the double eagle as it's a steal for the money but at the same weight with a polymer body it's slightly less tempting.
  3. Hi, my first post here. Visited a local CQB site a few times now (killhouse maze type thing in a mill) and I've decided I'm going to get membership and my UKARA on my next visit. The site's nice, I like the people and the games are fun. But I've visited once in February and then again recently and it's not changed one bit that whole time (is this normal?) so I think I might need to venture further afield, all the sites around me are ran by the same company so membership will be beneficial. The ancient rental ASG SLV36's have told me what I definitely don't want in a RIF, glad I got to spend some time with them. Pros of the G36? It seemed fairly accurate but the distance of encounters is very low so I should hope it is. Folding stock is great for using iron sights with a full face on. Last time I went I played stock collapsed the entire time and had much more hits than previous visits. I've never had a mag run out (470 capacity). Cons? Crap iron-sights Heavy at 2.8kg with no attachments or mag (especially when not using stock). Motor and gearbox sound horrible. Hi-Cap Mags rattling, screwing up my ninja plays. Though it didn't often feel like the barrel was particularly long, the RIF felt unwieldy and un-ergonomic. Winding is annoying and I frequently forget to do it. Feels cheap. Next Step So I'm thinking a Delta Armory R15 Freya 7". I ended up on this one mostly because of how much had been pre-upgraded with SHS parts, a ZCI High Torque Motor a nice EFS with features comparable to those in high end models. I've now got an ok understanding of how the RIF functions and I know that just because those parts are present doesn't mean they've been fitted adequately. I'm fine with jumping into the rabbit hole of working on my own RIF and would likely get quite into geeking out and tinkering. I probably prefer MP5's for looks, a lot more so than an M4 but in my budget they're all heavy and just annoying (those hop ups are dumb and those mosfets in the CYMA Platinum's sound like they have really bad QC issues.). The freya is not the cheapest, but I am sick of wasting money to just end up spending more down the line. I have had a look on the classifieds and honestly I'm not seeing any mega deals, unless it's a nice RIF with 7 mags that I hate the look of (I then end up settling on it 15 mins later and it's either been sold or the seller ghosts me, maybe it's my lack of posts are feedback that scares them off). So my questions are, does anyone have any experience with this RIF? Would it make a good starter? What colour would you get it in? And what would you suggest as an alternative? My budget for the RIF is around £300 or less (not including batteries etc) I'd like something with more modern specs as a kind of future proofing.
