  1. Hello all

I'm going be cleaning and maintaining my gbb stuff for the first time today and I'm a bit confused on what to use for lubrication, I've got both ASG gear grease and Nuprol silicone oil and I've been recommended both by different people, which one would work best for lubrication (I also have a small can of ultra air silicone oil if that's any better)?

Also what cleaning products are best suited for cleaning gbbs, cleaning dirt specifically?

I have a VFC LAR and an Army Armament R32 M1911 for reference.

Here's images of both for reference:

Nuprol Premium Silicone Airsoft Gun Oil 180 ml : Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors Ultimate Gear Grease

    Thanks in advance.

There will not be another "release date"as such it's just another production run.

They are expected back into UK stock in the next couple of weeks depending on shipment clearance etc

Cheers man! :) I was wondering if there would be a release date as I heard that they're gonna be releasing the LAR steel deluxe version

Pretty standard, I ordered, got a few updates and then some weeks later the item was delivered.

I wouldn't recommend ordering from any Asia based retailer if you:

    A) "Need" the item within three weeks.

    B) Are going to freak-out if it takes six weeks and then you get a notice to pay customs/handling.

fair enough, cheers dude :) I've been looking for a specific style of stock for a while and this store has it, just didn't know whether I could trust it or not

As if by magic, here's the breakdown on a delivery I've just received from Platatac.

Despite this being a third or fourth order from them, it's the only time I've paid a Custom's charge.

Under new regulations if an overseas seller registers with HMRC they can charge UK VAT, and it just becomes a slower delivery across borders

(They declare appropriate references on the customs documents and pay HMRC)

If not then they charge you their sale price and overseas postage, it arrives at the border via a carriers handling centre, the carrier check the declarations and send you as importer an import VAT bill of 20% of the item valuation (which may be the invoice amount or may be revalued for the UK) plus the carrier add their handling fee (which could be a fixed fee or could be a percentage)

There is also likely to be VCRA validation of your defence to import a RIF

Customs/Border Force may inspect, but most items just get handled by authorised carriers

Cheers guy! To be honest I think I'm gonna skip on buying airsoft kit from abroad (other than mags utility stuff and clothing, it sounds like way more trouble than it's worth

They're sound. Ordered few bits from there before.

As long as you stay under 135 pounds you should be fine regarding VAT and customs fees.

Yep, regularly get the odd bits and pieces from them.  They were one of the only places that had the steel stock catch for the MP7 in stock.  Just ordered a ‘Surefire’ Scout mount too.  Orders usually take between one to two weeks.

I don’t know if I’d buy a RIF from them, but for hard to find bits and bobs I recommend them

    Thanks guys! :D

I used them a few years ago, buying a KWA Ronin TK45c when they'd just been released. From what I remember the service from Taiwan was decent (a couple of weeks) but, despite the price of the gun seeming to be a bargain, the £96 customs charge meant I could've bought from a UK seller quicker and cheaper.

Is there a way to calculate how much the tariffs/customs charge will be or if there's are rates or something?

I bought some small parts from them about a year ago and they came through fairly quickly with no customs charges. I probably wouldn't risk buying something like a RIF from them, but I always source my weird, niche parts from Hong Kong as they tend to have better stock availability

    Hi,

I did buy 5KU parts from their ebay store, as well as some AK mags straight from their website. It was a couple years back, but never had an issues.

I didn't pay any extra tarrifs then, but I can assume PayPal fees and VAT might be something to expect.

    I hope that helped.

That’s brill, I’ll be getting my kit from them then, cheers guys! 😃

  8. Hi all

I've been looking at getting some specialized mags and MLE marts is the only place I found have them, has anyone bought from there? If so are they a good retailer and will I have to worry about having any big tariffs?

    Cheers in advance

Which colour, attachment method and retention style?  Rough budget?

Generally you want '7.62' pouches, they'll look wider and shorter than typical 556 or AK pouches.  If it's a fabric pouch and fits G3, M14, M110/SR-25 or SCAR-H it'll also work for the FAL mags.

Surplus L129 'sharpshooter' pouches will be far sturdier than the bottom end of the china clone stuff yet still cheap:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=mtp+sharp&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_dmd=2&_odkw=sharpshooter+pouch&_osacat=0&_sop=10&LH_PrefLoc=1

Or these are very well made and a good sale price:

    https://www.uktactical.com/product/warrior-single-7.62-x-51mm-open-short-mag-pouch-multicam-6029

I wanted to get 4 (or 2 double) in black that are molle, for style/type it’s not that important though I would prefer the ones with the wire holding down the mag and as for budget I’m looking £15 max, I’ll also take a look at the links too thanks

Not cheap but Tacos will fit pretty much any mag.

I’ll take a look at them cheers

Hey mate, no pics of mine at the mo, I usually run an inverted serpa holster at the highest point(my right titty), 4x 7.62  tactical tailor shingles that will hold pretty much any mag(plus because they're slight oversize to an M4 shingle, the curve the whole setup around the torso a bit) , then a 5.56 tactical tailor shingle for an m4 size speedloader which sits just above my left hip, & piggybacked on to that is a twin pistol mag holder which when loaded gives a good counterweight to stop movement .

the whole thing is very lightweight, sits high across the chest & doesn't impede movement at all.

I also run a sling fitted, essentially a length of 25mm webbing that connects on the front midway under the pouches at about the sternum, goes under my right arm about 6 inches under the armpit & attaches to the rear of the bandolier in the middle of the back.

On the sling is a quick release sling point, the type that locks in to a suitable sling or stock mount, this means I can literally drop an rifle & it instantly slides out of the way under my armpit, usually sitting slightly to the rear of my right hip, that set up combined with the inverted serpa makes for a lightning fast transition from primary to pistol, even for an old slow fucker like me it looks impressive lol.

I've never had an issue with the setup moving or rotating, but I know the original blackhawk had a small strap down on the left hip area that could attach to a belt or even a trouser belt loop, probably be easy to knock something up similar if it's needed.

Sounds like a solid loadout, I was thinking of having my rifle pouches on the bandolier and then having it connect to a battle belt holding my pistol with some mags for it, but I'll probs just leave the strap bit tbh as it sounds like everything is quite nicely balanced anyway

Also I know it's weird to ask but do you run your shingle upside down or normal? I've seen with a lot of airsoft bandoliers in videos people tend to hold their mags upside down for some reason

Well, I took mine out for its first game yesterday and it was superb.  Used it as a DMR hitting targets at 70m or so on .3s.  Just wish I had more mags....They are pretty much sold out now anyway so you will have to wait for the next batch

Sounds solid, sucks it's sold out though, guess I'll have to do a lot of saving up in the meantime lol

Short answer, no.  Get the VFC FAL if you can, its superb.

The VFC does look great tbf, only thing I'm a bit iffy about is that it's a gas blow back and I've never had a gbbr rifle and don't know how well they hold up to electrics

On 28/10/2022 at 09:35, DerDer said:

Yeah unfortunately no developments on that front. Their Facebook page has them claiming no updates on the FN FAL.

Might be a case that VFC pursue an AEG version or another manufacturer steps up.

We have the MOA show in Taiwan in December so perhaps something will emerge? There's always hope....

I'll have to look into that, cheers for letting me know :)

No idea if this site is legit - https://www.tacticalgeartrade.co.uk/flyye-industries/flyye-1000d-bandoleer-molle-platform-webbing-belt-coyote-brown.html

If you can't be sure then the usual sites in the far east have them if you google 'molle bandolier' or 'bandoleer'.  Personally I'd recommend a chest rig or PALS belt since there's a reason those are so popular and the bandoliers are far scarcer, but there's options to try.

funny enough I was looking at running the bandolier with a battle belt lol, I do get you tho with how they're not the most useful of kits, I've just had this idea of running an 80's inspired loadout lol

Bandoliers are great, I've often run them, they make for a good high speed low drag set up, especially if your bodyshape isn't ideal for belt rigs.

First one I had was made by blackhawk, now discontinued but there's some good knock offs about, considerably cheaper than what your looking at, used to be a few sellers on ebay with multiple colours/camos, for about £15-20, can't find them at the mo but I did find this:

    https://www.carousell.sg/p/mud-brown-tactical-molle™-bandolier-sling-bag-1055799730/

EDIT : had a look at earlier topics re bandoliers, found this link on ebay

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174606742374?hash=item28a75f7366:g:BrcAAOSwHHFY-Gfi

Wanted to ask man, what does your Blackhawk bandolier look like? Sounds like a solid bit of kit, shame tho they discontinued it.

Also with the ebay one is there any good small belts to connect the bandolier to a belt system too? bit worried that the bandolier would go over the place when running around.

  14. Hi, wanted to ask if anyone knows if kings arms are gonna be bringing their old fals back anytime soon? I heard a while back that they planned on doing a re release a while back but there were some issues or something.

In fact apart from the new vfc that came out recently are their any other companies looking to make fals?

    Cheers in advance.

  15. So I've been looking at customizing my JG fal for a while now and I was wondering if there's anywhere that sells JG fal parts or the other replicas like the classic army.

I'm particularly looking for a handguard ,an outer barrel and muzzle like the one on this fal https://www.evike.com/products/30048/ and maybe a foldable stock as well. Does anyone know anywhere where I can find parts like these or if there's a shop that can import stuff like that?

    Cheers in advance.

  16. Hi all

So I made a previous post about looking for a good bandolier and after looking at suggestions and other places I found a cool bandolier

    Here's the link: https://www.defconpaintballgear.com/magfed-gear-tactical-molle-bandolier-black/

Issue with this though is that the retailer doesn't ship to the UK. So I'd like to ask, does anyone know where I can find this type of bandolier with a front and back panel?

    Cheers in advance.
