  1. look at ya gun - it is likely small tamiya....

    mMF7xCij-Yxir2zwygJPJuA.jpg

two top right connectors are male/female small tamiya - reckon 90 to 98% stock guns will be small tamiya

(probably 99% but I don't own every gun out there) thanks for all your info really has helped

bottom right 4 are large tamiya - unlikely to be used in most guns - maybe big fixed stocks but should have adapter from Large to Small Tamiya

bottom left is a small tamiya btw like top right two

3 on top left are deans - usually found on upgraded guns - allows more current to flow through thicker 16awg wires to motor

(16awg is quite thick and not all guns/gearboxes can squeeze in wires as thick as that)

    other connectors found/used...

mini deans - unlikely to found but have seen a US baby M4 AEG that came with mini deans

XT60 & banana plugs - mainly used on RC stuff than airsoft but some do use these connectors on guns I have seen

Airsoft is usually small tamiya or Deans if upgraded as in picture

sometimes using RC batteries that have XT60 connectors you need to re-do connections or get correct adapter

polarity differs also on Large & Small Tamiya's so if using an adapter double check polarity is 101% correct

Lipo's often have a min of 16awg - often 14awg, or higher burst 12awg+ wires in them

jeez - really thought most of all this would be in that 3 page essay posting we done a while back

I think I'm done on this for now - if you speak to componentshop.co.uk they will sort you out and answer any queries

  2. don't worry about the scaremongers. Yes a poorly treated LiPo can catch fire, so don't pierce it or hit it with a hammer etc. Don't run them flat as they won't recover easily so will destroy the batteries life. a 7.4v LiPo is a 2 cell LiPo, 11.1v is 3 cell. Day before a game, plug in battery to balance charger, turn it on, wait a bit.... wolla... battery is charged. They hold their charge well over time, they do not need any more fuss than that really, just keep an eye out for them swelling or damage to the protective covering and don't short them out.

thanks makes things simple for me
  3. search button helps

not typing all that crap again

discharge - nah sod that - remove lipo and as long as they stay above 3v per cell they will charge fine

as long as they don't charge above max 4.2v per cell that is fine

in a perfect world cells balance perfectly - but hey ho if that don't always work

use a bit of common sense - if they look puffed or damaged then replace

a little puff is fine - don't puncture them or you will regret it like I did

thanks mate new to the forum I'll have look through the link video was insane cheers
  4. Hi guys I'm thinking about changing my battery's for lipo's I have a G&G t418 I have read mixed reviews some say if you let them run down to much they blow up and if you discharge them to much the can blow up some say they damage the gun do you need to discharge lipo because I'm thinking about buying a nuprol 3000mAh 7.4v 20c nunchuck lipo battery and the charger is a balance charger with display but it's say it will only charge 2-cell 7.4 but the battery does not say how many cell it has and the charger isn't a discharger can any one help I'm confused

  5. Ok thanks can you recommend and good charger? Sounds like the mid caps are going to be a problem guna be a problem them for mil-sims if any one has found mid caps that work for the t418 please let me no I'll be getting the battery connectors change at the same time as I put a new spring in it getting about 305fts and want it about 340fts would like abit more range and power cheers

  6. I have the T4-18 and have always used a 7.4V LIPO - no problem. Just make sure that you charge the LIPO up the day before the game and make sure you store it at around 50% charge (not fully charged or discharged) until you need it for the next game.

Mags are a problem on this rifle. You can use a wider range of mags but you have to do some filing. Ive never bothered and just use the standard G&G hi-cap with it.

  7. Hi guys I'm pritty new to airsoft I've brought a G&G t418 and thinking about start to use lipo battery's but am unsure as I've been told I needed to be careful on how to charge them and that I mite want to discharge them also I don't no to much about them and there a mixed reviews on them. Also I have brought MAG 190rds mid caps for my t418 and having feeding issues with them but all the reviews say that these mags are the only ones that work for my rifle please any advice would be great
