  • Anyone using a MAD lever on their gbbr? Any cons as it all looks like pros to me.

GBBR's need to be RS spec - So, WE, VFC or VT - otherwise it probably won't fit.

    You mean a B.A.D lever?

If so, yes I use them on ALL my M4 and 416 GBBr. I found a small amount of sanding to the back plate of the BAD Lever allowed for the right amount of movement to ensure good consistant operation and lockback.

Where is the best place for mws T8 trigger upgrade parts please?

Ah, right. In that case I've no idea what I'm talking about. I've an EMG Mk18. I'll start my Google again! Lol

Evike are the biggest problem here, as per usual. They go for the decent option first, then cheap out on the next models.

Didn't realise EMG was Evike. This is my first gbbr so there's a lot to learn.

can anyone point me in the direction of a user manual type thing for an EMG Daniel Defense GBBR? My googlefu aint working!

If anywhere has it, it'll be on the CYMA website.

Is there a what have you made thread? Can't find one but want to share a pic of my rifle stand. ?

Perun V2 Hybrid and a Maple Leaf Macaron Hop Rubber are on their way. Might get to play next weekend.

I think I'm letting the side down. I've got one rif, one pistol and am happy with what I've got. I look at other pews and think That's nice but I wouldn't use it as I'm happy with what I've got!

    I'm sorry. I'll try harder.

You are aware that RIF isn't short for rifle, right?

    DanBow
    DanBow
@Cr0-Magnon that's a good point actually. Yes, I know it doesn't mean rifle but that's what I think of.

That's good because after wasting thousands of pounds most of the people reach the same conclusion. ?

I don't use a scope protector as I consider airsift sights as consumables. AITAH? ?

@DanBow no, NTAH. Flexing on the poors? Maybe, but if someone thinks that £30 is too expensive to be sacrificial then I'd say airsoft is not the hobby for them.

@Skara thermal? Depending on nm range there is fairly inexpensive (relatively speaking) Germanium lens protectors on AliExpress.

Well you pay your money and take your chances, get lucky and your sight will have a full and rewarding existence.

If not you get a new sight and start again.

    Stay lucky @DanBow.....

I tend to use some form of protector on both my torches and optics - it's all rather cheap/easy to do, and doesn't affect the optics quality (at least in terms of typical airsoft use - and with the notable exception of the protector that I put on a replica eotech that warped the image so much it made it unusable). I buy a number of perspex ready cut discs in various sizes off ebay, and fit them to the front of scopes held in place by a flip up scope protector cap or a self adhesive ring of foam purchased from aliexpress, and on front of torches using a 3d printed collar. £1-2 per protector vs £30 or more scope...

I've seen a few adverts on here lately stating that a defence is required and will be checked. Thinking about UKARA, how can an individual check it? I always thought that you couldn't, that it was only for actual retailers.

@Chopper92 an IT friend did some work on a system, knew the ins and outs of GDPR etc, was also a security bod, but he found a lot of "issues" from the community and decided it just wasn't worth the time and effort involved.   was a shame as I thought it was looking pretty good.

I mean I can show my old UKARA card I got but the date on its 2 years old and that UKARA is expired next month and waiting for my new number from Alpha to come through. Got plenty of photos to show I play dress up in fields though ?

What are you all using as bb catchers for indoors? My cardboard filled box has some large holes and is due replacment.

    gavinkempsell
    gavinkempsell
A cardboard box with an NBC jacket hanging inside it, still got bb's all over my floor & some I aimed a bit low so they went right through the box :)  but it works well enough.

My inner child coupled with my job as a heating engineer means I have a selection of hot water cylinders to shoot outside - the foam lagging acts quite nicely to  not only catch the BBs, but also quite handy for zeroing sights .  Quite what the scrappy will think when they finally get chopped in I don't know.  Inside I have a Gousto box with one of the boy's old school shirts inside.

I use a cardboard box, duct-tape'd the back for re-enforcement, stuffed it full of that paper stuff amazon use as packing and then tape paper over the front which means I can print targets etc.

When the front gets worn, I just tape more paper over the top. Nothing's got through the back yet, when it does I'll just tape another layer of card on.

Might have to put a hole in it at some point to empty the BBs out as it's getting proper rattly.

oh, and another thing, the spring on my mP5 is shorter than standard too!!!!!! We need a shop that deals only in springs of all different lengths and sizes!

    Lozart
    Lozart
Does that mean I need to buy a new AK every time I want to change the spring in an existing one?

@Colin Allen but of course. Isn't that what everyone does?

    Colin Allen

@Lozart I have been doing it wrong for so many years.

@DanBow Guarder use their own SP rating, which is measured on a 0.25g BB.

Therefore, a Guarder SP100 gives 100m/s using a 0.25g BB; everyone else rates their springs using a 0.20g BB.

Who's stupid idea was it to try to put my gearbox back together when getting up after being on nights, and being so cack handed that the anti reversal latch spring has flown off and disappeared off into the ether? Oh yeah, that'll be me!!!!!!!

    DanBow

Ak2m4 has a gearbox set with one in for a few quid, so I'll be getting one if those shortly.

Here's a repro XC1/XC2 by WADSN if you're after something pistol related. They do fake X400s but I don't know the quality on them. Just waiting for the XC2s (dual mode, red laser + a torch) to come back in stock with the markings and then I'll probably grab one. Little bit more pricey due to the laser though, so you could always just get the XC1 without one. I just like the idea of being a bootleg Leon S Kennedy with my little laser lmao

Edit: found the X400 repros. No idea on the quality of them but they look the part and have the laser/light combo.

Ledray are bulletproof and not silly Surefire money.  Not cheap but I've had mine for 15 or so years.

I have a couple of these on airsoft rifs: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354512677837  I think that I've had them about three years or so.  TBH I prefer to press the rear of the torch with my thumb, and angle/mount the torch to be able to do so.

Just had a play with my chrono and my pistol fps is all over the place! Do I need to do "warm up" shots or is it new hop rubber time?

    The_Lord_Poncho
    The_Lord_Poncho
You will find that with almost every shot, unless you wait a minute or so between them, the FPS will likely drop - due to the cooldown of the gas.

Another reason that it might be wildly fluctuating- especially if you are getting a few sky high readings  -is that the Chrono is picking up the gas cloud itself. In which case, try holding the muzzle a little way back from the chrono (whilst taking a lot of care not to shoot out your screen!)

    DanBow
    DanBow
Thats a good point, there were a few shots that registered as shots but no reading showed.  I presume that waa picking up the gas?

    The_Lord_Poncho
    The_Lord_Poncho
Possibly....worth trying a little back and seeing what happens!

Been casually looking at RIFs for the last few days but how do you know what's good out of the box and what's not?

    Lozart
    Lozart
Very little is actually "good" out of the box, depends on your budget though. A TM is usually fine as it comes, a lot of others are in need of more power/RoF/trigger response from the get go.

    Monty
Most stuff these days seems pretty good, out of the box anyway, even the 'cheaper brands' Double Bell and Golden Eagle have made some top quality aeg's. I generally snuff at anything that takes their own 'proprietary' parts/mags, like G&G. Cyma 'platinum' aeg's are very nice.

    EDcase
    EDcase
Yeah, most are decent and there are some gems that shoot above their price point.

Just go for the look and style you want.

As long as it uses a V2 or V3 gearbox you know there are plenty of parts available to improve if necessary.
