  • Having finally got a job, I got paid yesterday. Theres a WW2 airsoft game today but I have to work. The really annoying thing is I have to work less than a mile away from where the game is :(

ouch - they didn't put working very very unsocialable hours in job description. bummer when work gets in the way of important things in life :(

Yeah, I had hoped to get one of those 9-5 jobs doing some sort of admin, but instead I got one of those jobs where you work all sorts of hours surrounded by air hostesses. Oh well, I guess I will have to live with it :D

I work with a load of tarts as well, me being the biggest tart of all :D

I need a job soon. It's driving me insane having all the free time and no money to do anything.

soz to hear your situation, a m8 of mine had a crap disciplinary meeting. It is still not very easy to get a decent job out there. Hope your luck changes real soon

try to go in there all co-operative so to speak but if it starts getting sh*tty then turn it around about the pressures recent put upon you in the role have meant difficulty sleeping due to stress etc......

That should make them ease up and back pedal

first and foremost they have to prove you was asleep, you could have just blinked your eyes ;-) 2nd go to see your GP, your suffering with stress caused by being suspended etc

I had a foolproof idea to get some free beer. Saturday is ANZAC day and the 100yr aniversary of Gallipolis, I have a full Australian uniform and there are lots of Aussie pubs...

only problem is that when you check the web pages and facebook pages of Aussie bars, none of them seem to know that Saturday is anything special :(

You should send around educational flyers a week or 2 before ANZAC day ;)

WW2 game at the sandpit on 23rd May, trying to decide if it's worth staying for the Sunday game to make the travel nightmare worthwhile?

With all these status's about revising, I just want to tell you that I have a degree and have never revised for an exam. I'm just one of those lucky people who are just good at exams :P

I bet theres maths involved in a Politics course. May just be simple economics etc but still maths.

Tomorrow (well later this morning) I am catching the train to Langley (just past Slough) and then cycling 17 miles to the Road to Rome game on the most overloaded bike ever. 95% of the route is Grand Union canal towpath so should be flat, I hope.

don't fall in the canal with all that gear. Having a bloomin good one & hope weather isn't too bad for any of us this weekend

I often cycle on river paths (thames mostly) and always found them to be well bumpy although not steep, hope you didn't get rattled about too much!

over 21K now. It hit a chord with me as you never really hear about the 'death march' of POW's in Europe and my Grandad also survived it. Basically POWs were in camps in Poland and were forced to walk to western Germany in the winter without enough food or winter clothing because of the Russian advance.

I appear briefly at the 8 min mark. This was filmed by the Brits and I was mainly with the Yanks.

Soo happy with my Owen gun. According to the Germans it has some insane range. Jingles couldn't be arsed getting out of bed 'cos it was raining in the morning though. Shame, it was an epic battle and would have made an awesome video. I got 3 knife kills with the P08 bayonet :)

Must have been like a kid at christmas going out on his new shiney bike. Always nice when ya enemies wanna see that gun ya took them out with

I kinda got that at The Mall last week. Brought three guns; my Raider GBB as my primary, my ACM P90 and my backup, and my new ACM MP40 to chrono. Turns out, it was too cold for my Raider, and my P90 had a grease buildup that caused it to have an 80fps jump. So I ended up using an MP40 at a modern game. Got a few people asking me about it. Shame about jingles, but at least you had fun

This time tomorrow I will be camping out at Combat South ready for my 1st WW2 game this year. Also should get hold of my Owen gun. Weather forecast is rainy and cold but I have plenty of beer ready.

Yeah, I plan to try and be in the background of as many of his shots as possible doing something heroic looking :D I won't be hard to spot in my Aussie gear.

By heroic looking, I may mean Hungover looking :D I think it's likely that Jingles will notice me with the Owen gun and slouch hat.

    mmmmm owen-gun (homer-drool)

Should I branch out into Vietnam airsoft to get more use out of the Owen gun? I would just need a mix of P58 and US Alice webbing, a boonie and some puttees

I'd say go for it mate. Always another type of game to go to. You can get some of the stuff pretty cheap too. Would also be an excuse for more guns later on!

Evelyn has been entered into a custom gun competition in AI magazine. I bet she loses to some tricked out M4.

It just needs sling mounts and some parts haven't been blued yet. It should be finished in about a week. I have a WW2 game on 28th Feb so I should have it for that.

it's a really impressive build, but i just can't call it cool / the gun is 'kin hideous!

Some guns, like the SMLE are just good looking. Guns like the Owen are a bit more untilitarian. It just looks wrong to have a top loading mag, but it means that it feeds well, it can be reloaded easily when prone and doesn't catch on vegetation as the Sten would. It's quite a bit larger than a Sten, this is because the main tube has a bulkhead between the bolt and the cocking handle. Dirt can get into a gun via the cocking handle slot but on the Owen, this doesn't matter as th...
