I know a guy who might be interrested...

Just realised an issue with trying to do realistic and especially historical loadouts.. you mihgt be able to buy something new but then you need to fade it and make it look used!

    Nickona
    Nickona
I say more so for historic as there was less gear issued so it was used more.. I say this because my Nutria combats are far too clean and unfaded (they're brand new) to be seen in the African bush in the 1980s

    AirsoftTed
    AirsoftTed
Yeah, they would have seen the intense african sun, sand, aswell as combat conditions, sweat, sometimes blood and being worn for days at a time maybe more. Hard for us to compete with our 7 hour skirmishes in a somewhat muddy fields lol.

I wear my underwear for seven days or more at a time, then its just a dip in a nearby puddle and a thorough airing in the garden. I'll sell a pair to you for £200? Genuine issue Tesco gear?

Debating about selling my M249 and most of my modern kit???

    Nickona
    Nickona
yea I do but it looks like ti'll all just cost too much to get it an my Galil up to a decent standard

    Russe11
    Russe11
Sell one to pay for the other?

    Nickona
    Nickona
yea that looks like what I'm going to need to do

£50 for a pair of repro Rhodesian camo trousers too much???

    Nickona
    Nickona
I'm also tempted by a pair of the classic rhodie short-shorts :D

    Russe11

copy and paste the link. It's about a group buy of rhodie gear they are putting together.

    Nickona
    Nickona
oh yea I saw that, didn't seem like much was happening with it though

Who is planning on coming up to the British Airsoft Show?

    AirsoftTed
    AirsoftTed
I'll be there on the saturday or the sunday, unsure which yet. EI are gonna be there Nick, we might be able to nab a bargain on some USMC kit that'll send the geardo's on arneys running under their rocks!

    Nickona
    Nickona
Haha well I and some others from FTZ should be going Sat as well

Not sure if I should sell my MBSS and other USMC kit to pay for an R4 handguard and other African goodness? Advice!!

    AirsoftTed
    AirsoftTed
Ultimately though, what do you feel more at home in, and what suits your site best? I felt a right tard in my TFB loadout it just wasnt for me, and only really suited CQB. My FR kit on the other hand, I feel right at home in and I change a few bits to suit any scenario

    Nickona
    Nickona
I don't really want, its just the cost of finishing it is a fortune! The thing is the loadout isn't finished and won't be for a while and even then people are bound to find holes with it.. its just not been a very satisfying build.

What I might do is keep it but just not worry about it for a while..

    AirsoftTed
    AirsoftTed
Yeah probably best Nick, in all honestly if you just turnt up at site, most people wouldnt know much about force recon etc anyway. I'm just going to get the basics down like vest, weapon and helmet. Any little details likr the belt kit and that I'll buy when and IF I have the spare cash

I've just realised with geardos, the ones of older kit are far nicer and more helpful than those of more modern kit.. speaking in generalities of course

    A
    Airsoft-Ed
It's because there are fewer "experts" regarding older kit.

Everyone thinks they're a know it all with modern stuff because they think CoD and the clips from the news are representative of entire armies.

Having trouble with the Force Recon loadout Nick? I dont post on that thread anymore I just watch and learn. Had one idiot tell me ALICE webbing was a vest etc even though he was wrong and then proved wrong. The Namsoft community are very helpful and welcoming I've found, as are those on Red Alliance.

    Nickona
    Nickona
Yea Teddy.. I kind of get the feeling they don't want more people doing their loadouts unless its absolutely 100% perfect. whereas on the Rhodie/SADF thread we love it if someone shows an interest! In my time looking I've only ever seen one nerly accurate SADF R4, most just run straight Galils because its easier and everyone understands the parts are hard to find so no one cares. But imagine trying to use a normal M4 instead of a L119 on a UKSF thread, you don't get anywhere...

Just took off the carry handle from my R4/Galil. Good lord! Probably one of the most awkward thing I've done with airsoft!

Turns out trying to simultaneously building a SEAL, MARSOC, SAS and Rangers loadout is a wee bit expensive!

    jcheeseright
    jcheeseright
doing any of those is expensive just on it's own!

    Nickona
    Nickona
Well luckily there are bits of all of them that are commish, like MARSOC and SEALs of the era I'm looking at both use MBSSs, DCU is shared between UKSF and SEALs but still its a lot!

I am also cutting corners on a few of them, like the weapon as I'll be using my M249 for all of them for the UKSF is more SFSG

Just put some dummy SAPI's in my PACA and very comfortable.. now debating to fill them with sand or something to get their weight up??

    Nickona
    Nickona
I did look a a way to do plaster but seems quite difficult.. I assume if you filled the sand to he very top it wouldn't move about..

    M_P
    M_P
It'd probably leak out one way or another, could get punctured if you like on something sharp

    Nickona
    Nickona
that something sharp would have to go through my MBSS, then PACA and then plastic while making a big enough hole to let sand leak.. not really a concern :D

Got a USMC Force Recon loadout based on ArmA 2 from my trip to San Diego!! :D

    Nickona
    Nickona
Not yet unfortunately, its not 100% accurate to real life as its based of ArmA 2 but its nearly there. Still need ALICE belt though. ALso most ofit inc all the MARPAT was got from the MCX in Camp Pendleton

    AirsoftTed
    AirsoftTed
ALICE belt's are quite easy to get hold of, think I got mine from flecktarn for 7 quid. Can anyone shop at the MCX?

    Nickona
    Nickona
cheers I'll have a look. Kinda, you just need to be with someone who has a military ID
