  • Fitted a 4uad hop rubber and Unicorn 210mm barrel to my MWS. Once the hop was dialled in and ~100 BBs put through it to set the NPAS (open a little more!) and I have it running 0.95 - 0.98j on 0.28g and 0.98 - 1.01j on 0.32g

Slightly shorter barrel reduces joule creep, even more than the stock 250mm TM or the 250mm Crazy Jet.

Accuracy from some bench rest shots at 10m seems good, will do a proper vice test tomorrow. Given that it is still 28deg in the shed I might rechrono once it isn’t as hot as satans armpit!

Anyone else had FPS issues with GM MWS mags? 282fps….88fps…282fps…87fps….and on and on. Sometimes it would be 3-4 full power shots then a weak dribble. G&P and TM mags were fine.

Mag #4 had a sticky / stiff release valve, a quick spray of GT85 and some silicone grease and moving much better. Took the play out the knocker valve and it is much more consistent.

For £70 mags they are pretty shoddy and a PITA to load.

You don't actually need to use their stupid open the shell loading system, you can just load them like any other GBB mag.

Yeah, I lock the follower down, slide mag back together and fill with speed loader…still more difficult than needed due to the feedlips

Ordered 3 of the GM Pmags for the MWS - two of the three are pissing gas out the outlet valves and the casing almost as fast as I can fill them!

The one that does work is nice and consistent, shame the other two are lemons! See what the retailer says…

"Well, the months or years they were drying out at the back of our stock room. But, to be fair, mate, you should have bought them sooner, that's on you."

TM MWS hop up clicker plunger got fired across the workshop earlier…..and I found it after only a few minutes searching! Bloody stupid design ?

Anyone got tips for getting “silent fill o-rings” out of TM valves? Digging with a needle isn’t getting anywhere….

If you’ve an empty gas bottle with a metal fill tube, heat the end of the the tube briefly and ‘fill’ your mag - the silicon ring should stick to it and pull out.

That is a cool trick! I managed to dig them out with a needle and a lot of swearing ?

Looking to buy some 7mm ID stainless tube as the previous owner cut of ALL of the fill tubes. Epoxy it on the remaining stub and allow some gas expansion space ?

Tested ASG Beige gas against Abbey 144a in my MWS, probably about 18DegC.

    ASG = 1.08J

    Abbey = 0.86J.

    (270fps vs 240fps on 0.32g)

Will keep a bottle on-hand for those warm summers days. ASG was reading  268 - 272fps yesterday at UCAP Gloucester when it was 20-22DegC so close to the limit. Nuprol white was 255 - 260ish.

You're costing me a fortune in gas dude! Seriously though, this is really useful. Hoping to get to the range next Saturday and will run through the three Vorsk gases I've got, and ASG orange and red. I'll use .32s as well as that's what I'll be running as standard.

In other news I've ordered a Titan nub from Jaeger so may fit that too if it gets here in time.

I figure if we, as a MWS community, can share this info it will let people spend money on stuff that suits their needs and save costly experimentation ?

I can also say that the ML MR Hop Silicon 60deg over-hop 0.32g even with hop set to minimum. Stock TM refitted.

So if you have a TM MWS and you need to drop the FPS (maybe after a longer barrel or other changes that can tip it over the limit) try this one crazy trick!

Take out the plastic rocket valve and LIGHTLY rough up the flat back part, cover in thin layer of superglue and dip the end in baking powder. Dust off and repeat.

Clean up the edges to it moves freely in the nozzle and re-assemble.

Mine went from 290+ fps down to 240fps (0.32g) in 18DegC on ASG beige gas! Less than a mm of extra length makes all the difference! (Ooh err Matron!)

YMMV, messing about with internals like this might break things, get an adult to help, I am not liable for anything, ever.

Finally finished faffing around with nozzles, valves, blockers and springs and the MWS. TM nozzles give 45fps LESS than the Guns Modify nozzles....DP aluminium valve adds 100fps over the GM plastic one...two identical valve springs vary by 15fps...

Steel bolt is shooting at 1.08J, spare nozzle gives 1.07J.
Spare Aluminium bolt has a NPAS in so can dial it up or down (and hopefully it won't self adjust!)

Ah, interesting. I've always been happy with my stock MWS (apart from replacing the nub with a SixG) but my second one I'm happy having a bit of a play around with.

I'm fascinated by the stuff you've been doing so I'm really interested to see what else you're coming up with.

Incidentally, have you seen that BavTac are working on titanium bolt weights?

Mine came with a Crazyjet barrel (+20fps) and running 0.32g means you get Joule creep. In warm weather an NPAS or carefully selected nozzle parts are needed to keep it under 1.13J

I am surprised by the variance in output with things like rocket valves and nozzle brands. I would make a chart of them but given the seemingly random QA and materials in airsoft I am not sure it would be useful!

It is interesting to see how thise little things play such a big part. That's why I really like Olli Talks Airsoft as he does a lot of the same things.

It's definitely given me another side to the hobby.

Been researching different gas pressures for my TM MWS. Usually using ASG Ultrair (beige bottle) and found this handy video comparing different gasses.

“Airsoft Mike” Youtube video shows the following (amongst others):

    Nuprol 1.0 - 320fps

    ASG Ultrair - 345fps

    V6 - 365fps

    V8 - 375fps

    Nuprol 3.0 - 375fps

Obviously it will vary from platform to platform but a handy guide to, in the words of “Play Your Cards Right”, higher or lower? ?

That's a really interesting point about the temperature. I've noticed a few retailers put that info on their websites now.

It's difficult to justify changing up when you've found a product that works for you. Curiosity is a bugger though ?

Just to chime in, I'm chuffed the graph on the side of the can is being recognised as helpful for working out whats best for you. Just a heads up though, while the Orange & Red are silicone free, the new green does have a small element to it, so for your MWS stick to ultrair for the warmer days.

I posted a bit of a spreadsheet in the MWS thread of my comparison of all 4 of our gasses through my MWS at 23c if you havent seen that. Theres also the price. Ultrair red is available for under a tenner.

Think I'll pop down to my local airsoft store and get some of the ASG to test over the weekend.

I do remember seeing your post and I'll definitely give it another look. Thank you

You need 425 for plastic. I only found this out a couple weeks ago myself, although not through experience.

    SSPKali
It was on a metal bolt, not on the plastic! Just being in close proximity was enough to cause issues.

Cheap MilTec 2L canteen fits perfectly in the SADF Battle Jacket bottle pockets (the big ones on each side) Means that A) you can keep hydrated and B) stop the mag pockets flopping around.

Might grab another and trim the top off to make a storage box for snacks and spares.

Brownells have a bad habit of saying things are in stock & when you order it actually goes into a backorder, without them telling you.....

Suffice to say this is the last time I am ordering from them. I spent 15 years in retail and would have torn a strip off any member of staff pulling this on my customers.

Pure drop-ship operation and they do not care about airsofters; which isn't actually a ding on them imho.  The issue is they're not clear about who they are when you go on the site, you're just expected to know, which people of course don't.  But you'll not get 99% of the stuff they offer any other way, if you don't like long silent waits, don't go to them.  Not a conventional business.

AngryGun are the Wish of the airsoft upgrades - change my mind!

Aren't they extremely expensive? Maybe things have changed but I remember them putting out a lot of very exotic (and sometimes entirely unique/original) external parts.

Motor and spring turned up today and I have just crammed it all into my G&P M4. Super snappy single shot and the 3rd burst has the BBs flying about a foot behind each other :) 345fps on 0.20g (M110 Rocket spring and 5mm spacer, was a little low without the spacer, around 315fps)

nice one man!!! im just waiting on my perun mosfets turning up then i can test out the compression kit that arrived :D hopefully bump my fps up a little as the cyma kit was absoloutly pants around 25% compression when the nozzle was installed had to ptfe tape the head to feck just to get a 100% seal without the nozzle  lol

Guns fettled and tuned, now to work on my body...few Kgs to lose and muscles to gain! Going to hit the first game back running!

I’ve run MWS at 2-3 degrees, you won’t be able to mag dump but cold really isn’t a problem. You can always put hand warmers in/behind your mag pouches
