Explaining relatively simple topics with folks (read as 'window lickers') that think they know better, sure glad I don't have any recent experience of that. I bet it's fairly irksome. ?

if they can't get their head around why it's harder to throw a cannonball than a tennis ball, then there's no hope.....

Skara

They can't understand how kicking a soccer ball gets it further than kicking a balloon, there is definitely no hope.

But if I put 0.2s in my VSR they fire at a higher FPS and therefore will go further.

Skara

@Impulsethat is literally the argument this so called "tech" used.

They are faster, thus they are more stable and reach further.

Oh, also R-Hops and Maple Leaf rubbers are shit and designed to be used in semi only, whereas the G&G green rubber is superb.

And that in order to gain more range, you must correct the AOE on a 18 rps gun.

Now all the fanboys of this guy, who thinks he knows it all because he winds his own motors and spouts a load of bollocks every time he posts something, are reeing because I dared telling him to pick up his elementary school physics book :D

yeah but if you put 0.12's in it they go even faster, hence further.

in fact why don't we have ammo that weighs nothing? then it can go at lightspeed!

In fairness G&G green rubbers are superb, but that doesn't change the fact he most certainly drinking the Kool-Aid.

In my experience with it, it's shit.

Didn't feed on 3 out of 5 AEGs I've installed it on, and struggled to lift 0.25s in the remaining two.

but ymmv

g&g green are good as far as a standard rubber goes, certainly on a par with the likes of the prommy purple imo.

however the maple leaf stuff is an entirely different animal for an entirely different purpose.

Aye, I found them to be the best of the lot for my MTWs in the standard hop chamber (before the fancy Phoenix hop came out). The standard chamber just didn't seem to particularly ML buckings, largely down to the tension on the feed lips as far as I can gather... at least that's me putting 2 and 2 together because the Phoenix hop allowed the feed lip tension to be adjusted and that thing seems to quite like a variety of ML buckings.

Not enough experience with them across a variety of set ups to recommend them over ML buckings in general, but my own small sample size of anecdotal evidence would say the greens are solid. If you're daft enough to think 0.2s are as good as it gets I could see how you could come to the conclusion that G&G greens are the best around, unfortunately there's a pretty important data point in that equation which isn't going to render any findings useful ?

out of interest, does this guy only ever work on cqb guns?

Not worth wearing your keyboard out over.

Let him be leet to his little group, at least you'll outrange his disciples.

Nice phrase for you though.... "Common sense isn't so common".

I don't know anymore, the "techs" on that forum seem to be stuck in the '90s, bunch of self entitled fucks too, I really wonder why the forum is dead :D

as steve says, at least you'll have one up on his followers.

G&G green overhop .2s like hell.  He must figure that the rainbow like trajectory adds range.

Sounds like the lad's true forte is mortars or black powder cannons...

Cant say ive noticed g&g's overhopping .2's, but then its been so long since ive ran .2's my memory is a tad hazy lol.

There is an optimal weight/mass in relation distance...

Too heavy & it requires way more force/energy to travel

Too light & it doesn't travel hardly at all

Take a practise golf ball down the driving range

& see how far it will travel compared to a real golf ball

Ahhh but the practise golf ball has holes in it...

View attachment 70900

OK if you think it makes a difference try teeing off with a ping pong ball & see if that will travel 180 yards or 180 ft

Now there is obviously a lot more to this

but somewhere betwwen a 0.12 BB & a 0.40 BB

there is the "optimal" weight/mass

& there might be slight variations depending on power/energy

but the golf ball / ping pong ball example is good one to use

yet some people will still refute it...

oh well - they probably think the golf/ping pong ball is flat too

i'm not sure the optimal weight (from a purely performance perspective) lies between the 0.12-0.4g range at least for airsoft.

generally choosing weights in that range are a balance of use-case and affordability, cqb players can run lighter as they don't need the range, and likewise outdoor players run in the .3g range because feeding an assault rifle with .48's is something only a madman would do.....
