Must be a regional issue, to be fair I'm within half an hour of the shop and haven't had an issue with UPS - DPD on the other hand are an absolute nightmare.
Pretty sure you can collect items from FireSupport though, think they're open Weds-Fri and every other Saturday?
I've got to say I echo this, made a couple of orders recently - packaging and shipping were great. Agree they seem to have a good stock of things that other places don't.
They are now my go-to retailer!
Made it out to Gunman Tuddenham at the weekend - ran the MWS L119A1 (for the first and last time this year), and a Blackhawk Helivest.
Was a nice lightweight load out, 3 spare magazines for the rifle and 2 for the Glock, plus a couple of multibangs is all I needed for the filmsim scenario...
Getting there with the MWS, VFC Storm Grip on the way as well as a genuine Diemaco stock. Internally fitted a Jaeger NPAS, although as its getting colder now I probably won't end up needing it!
Also dug out my ancient set of para webbing, can't wait to field it.
A couple of times I’ve launched chest rigs and webbing in the bath with soda crystals to soak, and then drip dry.
Did the trick although I did have to clean the bath after ?
Added an MWS to the collection. I've swapped some of the L119A1 bits over to it, so the long term plan is find a G&P Storm grip, maybe a spare upper to build a 16" one as well? And of course... magazines!
And then another stock and flash hider to go back on the NGRS so I don't have to keep...
This is my set-up, I have added pouches into both Molle sections, but as I don't tend to use the utility pouches on the outside for anything heavy or large it doesn't get too weighed down. I also find that a well set up chest-rig spreads the weight a bit better.
That's the key really - try out a few different options and see what works for you.
Holster, secondary magazines, trauma kit and dump pouch is the extent of what I did have on my belt.
I've found that chest rigs and belts can be a difficult combination. Mostly this is due to any pouches (or magazines) on the belt sitting too high and fouling any pouches that sit at either side of the chest rig. For that reason I don't tend to use a belt any more, other than one to hold my...
I wear a Garmin Instinct 2, it tends to be covered by the cuff of my gloves or sleeves.
No massive concerns with it being damaged, it survived being knocked about hooking up cars in my last job and a few Milsims since.
