  • OKAY, back again about systema ptw stuff.

I'm trying to make one of the long m16's with the grenade launcher. My issue is I know systema ptw guns use real steel proportions, so I'm worried if I buy an AEG style front end (not the outer barrel just the launcher and top hand guard part) just to get the grenade launcher and made by E&C see attached I'm just wondering if the fittings to get the nade launcher and hand guard/heat sheild would be out of spec to fit a real steel D-ring and front gas block

Okay so I think I made the deal of a lifetime thanks to me and the guy I got this from not having a clue what we had on our hands.

So. I just grabbed what I thought was an airsoft m16a2 with no batter and only one mag. But i wanted a metal bodied carry handle m16 thing to make a retro build. But the mags looked weird, and I had to adjust the hop with a little grub screw in the mag well.

Turns out I just bought a Systema ptw m16a2 for a steal.. Anyone know where I can get mags for it in the uk? Otherwise, I'm going to have to order them from Hong Kong and the UK retailers I looked at only have the modern style mags at £30 a pop.

Why are these system PTW things so expensive? The version I got looks to retail for $1700 American?

A systema PTW was essentially the pinnacle of airsoft for a while, they have their own gearbox and system. They were effectively the formula one racing cars of airsoft. They were known for precision engineering, excellent performance, range, trigger response and their 1:1 with real steal parts.

However they were also known for needing lots of specialist help, motor rewinds and expensive upkeep. Some trooped on through rain storms.....most stopped working in a slightly humid environment....let alone rain (this is an exaggeration), issues with feeding and random mosfet problems.

Like a formula one racing car they were expensive to get, expensive to maintain and easily broken (especially when poor quality bbs were used) and they'd stop working alot. But when they worked - they were pretty much the best on the field.

It's a dying platform now, few are making aftermarket parts, but with the improvements in pretty much all other RIFs, they're now expensive for little (if any) gain.

Yeah, as far as I have seen its things like £250 brushless motors and stuff, and I'm like " oh cool. I accidentally bought a high maintenance rich people gun" the one I have feeds fine and I'm just grabbing mags for it atm :]. From what I can tell, this gun is at LEAST ten years old and going strong

It'll still turn heads thanks to its signature sound but yeah, in terms of performance they're wildly outdated..

Been working on some project guns before I go back out on the fields about mid march! The mcx looking thing is almost fully 3d printed in carbon PLA and carbon PETG with a cyma plat gearbox :D

the BAR was a dead gun or got cheap and fixed for about £30 maybe £40 with a mosfet.

The mp5 is a cyma blue edition with a cheap mosfet and swordfish kit (it’s honestly a brick).

The pulse rifle is mostly stock.

mp9 is stock with a fun body kit on it printed in carbon PLA,

the big l85 is my hog in a wig. My first high end gun it’s a first gen G&G l85 a2 with a merf mosfet

the l22 is my piglet in makeup! That has short stroked gears and the perun etu++ mosfet. It’s my speed soft gun for lols.

the ghk has the air tac hpa kit with a printed handguard and a frostbite tracer. I put a harder sprint in it to up the recoil.

the AK is a cheap boy cyma with a high torque motor and the SRU kit :D  I broke it already but the break was easy to fix.

and that’s it till my next update.

all the files I got from cults3d

    Hey Folks,

Anyone know where to get an adapter for the MP9 to put a tracer in the QD suppressor? maybe something that can be 3d printed and inserted into the suppressor or maybe a kit I can buy to insert one?

Look on Ebay for the3dprinter he makes adapters for various silencers allowing the use of a tracer. Not sure about a MP9 but if its not listed it might be worth messaging him.

Thanks mate i will look him up

Hey just wondering as i only skimmed the rules so far, but if I am looking to buy just the body of a RIF do i need a ukara? I have lots of internal parts that I have gutted from broken guns but not so much in external parts. (I haven't been able to get a ukara previously due to not having ID or and when I got ID the Rona hit...)

You need ID when you've done your 3rd game and are asking your site to give you a UKARA number.

@Rogerborg - OK but if you do three games and get your ID sorted at a later date, surely you can still turn round to that site and say "Here's my ID, here's my proof I played three games"?

@Cr0-Magnon that might be ok, all depends on how the site functions.  For many sites UKARA is an added overhead I guess,  I wouldn't like being the person who would have to admin it all
