There are a lot of assumptions in that statement. You could be spot on but.....It's not a spring issue, it's an air seal issue.
this airsoft notion that leaving a spring cocked will cause it to fail is ridiculous, it may reduce it's life and rebound by a few FPS but will not kill a beefy main spring outright.
270 FPS is 80 FPS loss from what we expect of g&gs which are often hot. 80 is too much even for a tired, worn spring. The fact the previous tech has replaced the air nozzle and hopup unit reinforces it has a pre terminal air seal issue. They most likely threw in a stronger m110 spring because they couldn't fix it. You will possibly need a m140 to plaster over the crack, who will kill the motor.
My gut is a Cracked shell causing an un identifiable leak, but without stripping the box we will never know, hence why it's a project.
Certainly spend an hour with some fairy power spray, and maybe some paint to tidy it up will add a few quids.
Nobody should be buying 2nd hand batteries, we don't know the life cylcle or workl load of them, they are always a hassle, especially as they are so cheap.
Pack of 5 Mid caps are worth £30 +p of anyone cash. But again we don't know their work load.
Hi caps worth £5 a piece.
It wasn't a dig at all, and I'm not pushing anyone any direction, just sharing my experience.
I was the person buying this gun when I started, and I had my fingers burnt badly, I don't want to see someone else buy a broken gun and I don't want you to have the hassle when someone who does known what their are looking for comes back for your blood.
For reference the mags are £55 and the gun is £120 brand new.
No you check seals and if thats not the issue you try an m100 spring. No ones saying chuck an m140 in it.Like he said a tech did all the work. So let's, for a second, assume that the tech isn't a total spoon. Don't u think he would have tried the "simple" fixes. Just sticking a stiffer spring in is either goin to completely destroy what working parts are left or mask an underlying problem which will piss off buyer.
My guess:Not at all. Already told him (pm) am not interested in a working package so he is goin to get it checked again by his tech if it can't be fixed I will take it as a spares package. We are now all debating what we think is wrong, hopefully he will let us all know what it was.
So..... Would anyone like a guess as to what it is. One guess per person. Closest guess gets bragging rights.
No no. Come on, answers on the back of a post card. Time to put the nuts on the lineMy guess:
The problem is its a G&G combat masheep.
Agreed but am goin to say it's due to poor installation of new parts.Poor air seal from nozzle and hop would be my first guess.
Don't think it's blow back as there's no bolt. Thanks for the help£85 posted
Could split mags say £30 posted
Charger batteries £15 posted
Gun....
As is £50 - maybe £55 posted
A carbine is say £125 posted from z1
70% of that = £87:50
So in its present state of low fps 2-tone battleworn
Yup about £55 posted
Comes out about £100 for shipping 3 parcels
Or £85 if buying the lot
As Scarathe said £25 off original price
If blowback - plop in a normal head and blow the blowback crap
Alas it's a carbine - where do I attach my badass grip/torch/laser etc.....
Raider or other ris model might be worth a bit more
I could be wrong and soz if offends but about them prices is maybe what I feel it could be realistically worth.
Shame you ain't close I'd say gis a go at it and I'll buy if I couldn't help it get some of its mojo back
