My TM URGI ngrs has locked up while sighting in the optics, motor's running fine while loose in the grip & I've tried the semi-auto-semi trick a couple of times which worked but fully locked up now.

anyone with experience of this happening & any tips that DON'T include opening the gearbox?

I had the same issue with mine a good while back
Is your selector switch still feeling ok?
The reason I ask is mine felt a little bit “grindy” and it turned out the be the selector plate had worn a bit causing issues

It's certainly moving fine, the motor wants to do it's stuff but a fairly obvious lock up
I'd be surpricsed if it's had 500 bb's through it.

take the motor out and remove the pistol grip. use a thinnish screwdriver to move the anti reversal latch off the gear and the piston and gears should move back into their original position. refit everything and you should be good to go. To make it stop happening so often fit a high torque motor and to stop it happening completely fit a leviathan or titan.

The bolt stop on empty is a mechanical feature of the NGRS. On the Titan you can switch it off or on but I can't remember for the leviathan. I know you can set virtual magazine sizes in the leviathan. If I get a chance later I'll check one of mine that has a leviathan fitted.

Thank you.

I know to fit the Leviathan the instructions say you remove some parts like the cutoff lever, but not sure if doing so disables the bolt stop though.

Are you 100% sure the wires are on the correct terminals on the motor? Putting them on the wrong ones makes the motor spin the other way and jams on the anti reversal latch.

Have you checked the bolt stop mechanism isn't broken (can be done by removing the gearbox, but not taking it apart), the parts can fail and then the bolt lock can activate and deactivate....seemingly without interaction.

It locked up without any changes or disassembly so wires hadn't changed, I've since lifted the anti reversal latch and the gearbox unwound, all I'd done before the lock is pull the trigger to plink in the garden to zero the scope.

In stock form they're generally rather prone to lock-ups in semi auto, at least compared to a lot of other common electric guns. They were a nice leap in tech on release but obviously that was a long old time ago now. Not sure why the ARs never got an update to add MOSFETs etc in line with the MP5s; the company seems to have just skipped right over that idea and gone to the EVOLTs.
