Hi.

Not advice on what to buy, but advice on how to use. I filled my 48ci on Saturday and after one 45 minute game with my Wolverine it was half empty. I shot 140bbs. I counted. I’m like that 😀

Then yesterday I noticed the tank was empty. I leave the “top regulator” on as people at the field said once it’s working leave it all alone. I’m wondering if that’s good advice?

After the day should I take the top regulator off the tank?

Is it common to lose air overnight silently?

What about the directly attached tanks on the Wolverine Unleashed models?

I’m liking HPA, just some teething issues.

I don’t know about Airsoft efficiency but surely 140 shots on half of a 48ci isn’t good

First check the fill is a full fill
I’m assuming it’s a 48ci aluminium 3000psi
That kind of setup should not get hot on a fill station - but a fast fill, especially if it was from empty, can get hot and hot air cools down which means the pressure will drop
On your next fill do it slowly (perhaps turn on then off then on then off - you shouldn’t need that for a normal fill station)
Then check the pressure about 10 minutes later, if it’s dropped due to cooling then top up

It is very likely to have an undetected leak when packed away if still fitted
Not messing about with a working system is good advice, but next time disconnect

Once you establish that the bottle keeps its fill, either accept that or check o-rings. Especially check that the regulator is screwed on securely

You can dip things in water - as long as it’s not going to screw up something else
Let it settle and watch for bubbles
A slow loss won’t be noticable, but if you see bubbles then you know where the issue is

Draining to empty overnight is more than a slow leak

I’ll get it filled again today at the shop, then leave it overnight to see if it’s the bottle. If that’s ok I’ll put the rig on and watch again.

I’m in the big city today, and will have a few things going on this week prepping for the weekend…… so will be light on my presence
But always happy to give helpful advice on air / be highly opinionated on air safety

If you search about my posts for HPA1 and there will be air safety information.
I may or may not have the Toms filling advice amongst them

Your problem should just be a little teething to get started

For clarity, is it generally advised to leave the top regulator on permanently then? I always tend to remove mine after each game day - not sure why really, perhaps just to remove the tension in any springs. But this isn't necessary (unless it is leaking like in the OPs case)?

Personally I wouldn’t leave it on, as it keeps the cylinders regulators open and the onward regulator pressured

But concede to Airsoft air people
