Hey everyone im new to airsoft, im sorry if this is in the wrong place but here goes, i recently bought a nuprol fast helmet, the guy i bought it off never used and was still in the box but it didnt have any pads, can anyone suggest some decent pads to buy as replacements please.

Also im looking to paint the helmet is there a specific type/brand of paint i should be using to do it.

thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated.

Krylon works pretty well. So does the £4 can of flat brown I bought from my local hardware store. Prep work is arguably more important than what type of paint you use.

As for helmet pads.. depends how much room you've got to fill. I use these on my TMC Airframe: LINK

Maybe something like this would work better on FAST Helmets. Might want to see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Thanks dude really appreciate your reply

Indeed; Krylon Super Matt - Camo range - it looks top banana and is very forgiving for any level of painter. No real prep work required, just give it a wipe with pure Alcohol or similar. Or just go for it... it isn't fussy.

Krylon is designed to strip easily, it's meant for this kind of thing especially (RS) guns originally. It's meant as a removable paint as you would want to be able to strip & respray the gun/object for if and when your environment changes. Not important in airsoft so much but the plus is; due to it's non-permanent properties, it gives a nice weathered look on contact points etc after a few games (or you can rub away at it like you would with pornhub to speed it up...).

I didn’t know that ! See you do live and learn ! Cheers my friend .?

@Ash.more if you don’t mind waiting have a look on fleabay there’s plenty of pad kits on there for less ?

Painted mine with Halfords matte camo paint over the weekend, did get some primer for it too for when I do my rifle but didn't use it with this as I'm wanting it to get the sort of rough battle scarred look after a while.

£8 a can for the camo stuff and £10 for the primer is a bit dear though considering you can get Krylon for a bit cheaper online if you look but I was feeling impatient and wanted it asap haha.

Finished product:

(used mesh netting for the scaley effect - £5 off Amazon)

Looking really good bud , like it a lot . ?

Cheers lads, the helmet ive got is black but i want to change the rails and shroud to tan and do a similar snake skin look with a satin black over spray, that way is gonna look good i think ?

ive only been to one game with a mate but i figured id get gear i can use else where if i ever stop playing is my best route so i dont spend shed loads of cash

just as a reference the picture is from the trailer for the new tom clancys breakpoint if anyone was wonderingView attachment 49494

Was also thinking of getting these ear protectors but im abit unsure is they are any goodView attachment 49495

Those ear protectors are going to do 3 things under an airsoft context:

- Probably make your ears slightly warmer because of lack of airflow

- Protect your ears from stinging BB hits, or protect the ear canal itself from those 1 in 100,000 shots down your ear

- Make you look cool/cringey/etc from whomever's point of view.

Apart from that... I don't think there's really a question of whether they're "good" or not - their main objective IRL is to protect you from shrapnel, and you won't have issues in Airsoft there. They certainly won't give you decent hearing protection. If you're concerned about that, get some ear plugs, or a similar headset to the one you've put in the same post.

I'm shocked there was no comment from you about the GoPro hanging off the front ?
Didn’t think there was any point , I know how obsessed the youth of today are for any kind of fame no matter how shallow and fleeting it may be ! ?

???

Am I the only person who absolutely hates fast helmets?  Not as much as my pathological hatred of wheeled suitcases but its up there......

It's my creative outlet! And it's NOT JUST A PHASE ???

ear protectors
Look at the earmor headset from CAMOraids (what I've got on my lid as above), you can get a bunch of different configurations depending on budget and what setup you're running etc and they protect your hearing as well as your physical ears as they amplify/cancel out noise depending on dB level. Can also twist the ear cup up onto your lid if it's particularly hot or you're not using it etc

Most woodland gamedays it’s a boonie for me as well but CQB or out doors that has a fair bit of buildings in play I usually go helmet’ed , stops me braining my self hooning in and out of them ! ?‍♂️

Amen, I've got helmets but only use them on sites where I'll bash me nut, ucap tunnels for example, otherwise boonies rock.

my wife hates them, especially when was in Disneyland one HOT summer, me being a slaphead she said go & get a cap (meaning baseball) to stop me burning, I came back with a tan propper boonie & made sure I had it on in every photo, even on nights out, just to piss her off lol ?

I have various baseball caps for if it's really hot or if I'm not fussed about running comms or gopro... but you know, being a big time content creator now I gotta stay on that grind ?? (big time = my 25 subs on YouTube)
