Gamesmanship?

I think that the hardest game for telling if I was hit or not was was about 6 weeks ago at gunman in the snow. there were bits of snow and ice constantly falling off the trees and since the trees were quite tall I found it hard to tell between a bb and some ice.

I probably got it wrong a lot, but as has been said all you can do is call it if you feel a hit (unless you're in the safe zone) or if you're not sure give them the benefit of the doubt. it's a much nicer game to play for everyone that way ?

we were discussing this last sunday as it was snowing that a hailstorm would be terrible in an airsoft game:

"hit"

"HIT"

"HIIIIIIT"

"I'M FUCKIN HIT!"

"STOP SHOOTING YOU KNOB"

hahaha it's so confusing, but also a bit epic at the same time ?

Try being a marshal, you get all sorts telling you this that and the other at times that really arnt relevant to the game or anything for that matter!!

Was so dissapointed, got outvoted on going out in the snow, i was like "but muh enemy at the gates remake?"
haha, although you missed out there, playing in the snow is something else.

definitely with you on the enemy of the gates remake or maybe the winter sniper duel at the end of the film shooter ?

Speaking of gamesmanship:

I was playing a game at Apocalypse sunday just gone. I'd setup with another fella on the side of a road to ambush any players that had decided to follow our team who was escorting a medic to a casualty. Part of the afternoon game scenario... we were about 30-40 yards apart.

One enemy player stepped out and I sent a few rounds of burst fire his way. He never returned fire but called hit.

Now he was a gentlemen as I hadn't realised I'd made a schoolboy error; my midcap was empty so all I did was make a noise his way. DOH!

Nevertheless he called "hit" as I had the jump on him.

SO if you're a member on here "I thank you!" Very kind and sporting of him. :) Proper gentlemen.

Had to read that through twice, surely you mean sportsmanship? Gamesmanship is the opposite ?

LOL  I just googled "Gamesmanship" as I'd never really thought about that word before nor used it... yes, Sportsmanship.

I've amended the post but left it for all to see as I need to be made an example of...

I feel bad for pointing it out but I bet you use the phrase within the next week ?

Much better than my last time at Apoc, where someone tried to start a fight with me for shooting him.

I'm behind a bush, catch a glimpse of him moving up reasonably close, I pop up and fire a very short burst at him, 2 BB hit him for sure. He ignores this and runs for cover, I give him a chance to call hit, he just keeps running. Another (slightly longer) burst, at least 2 hit him again. He then stops behind a tree and shouts 'What the fuck was that' I respond 'call your hits'. He then gets aggy, starts shouting, and demands I 'come over here then'. I got shot by someone near him, and called my hit straight away, I'm walking past him to go to respawn and he's still being a knob, I got a bit shouty back and he backed down.

Same guy we'd watched walking back to his respawn dead, only to turn and shoot 2 guys in the back on our team who had just passed him, as well as getting aggressive with multiple people for daring to shoot him. We had reported him to marshall's, as had numerous other people, nothing got done.

I don't understand it, you're gonna get shot, it's the name of the game! ?

Did you grass the marshals to the site owner?

This is how sites get a bad reputation.  They should welcome being told.

shit like this is why I wont play at apocalypse again, I too ended up squaring up to someone who during a night game took his hit but then while calling for a medic continued talking to his mates & illuminating my team with a powerful taclight, when I called out that dead men don't talk, nor do they continue to use their equipment tactically, his response was to call me every kind of Cnut, needless to say it went downhill rapidly from there.

Turns out he's yet another typical "Regular", plays every gameday & mates with the owner (who's a bit of a knob), so obviously the rules don't apply to him ?.

see this i hate, site i started was like that, if you were a stranger they made damn sure they chrono'd your gun on .2's but the regulars would openly admit in the queue for the chrono that they were running the fps limit on .4's

if you're gonna have cheating then at least let it be equal opportunity cheating.

I had a marshall knife kill me at depot last time I was there. I had pushed up with a group to the enemy drug base and I  was holding an angle  then get knifed by the marshal who was standing 2 foot away when I took my position. I didn't realise it was a marshal until he stopped me while I was walking back saying I needed to hold my hand up he had knifed me. I was like yeah ok put me hand up and kept walking back to spwan. I was trying to be stealthy as I thought it was an actual player got in behind our group and was about to knife us all not wanting to give away his flank. I get the marshal might have seen me as just walking away after being killed maybe "pretend" I was back in once around a corner but the more I think about it is this something I should have complained about? He just ended my run at the base didn't kill anyone else in the group and he didn't even hit check me he knifed me which anyone can't dispute being knifed in the back of the shoulder.

Really confuses me why he did it and at the time I didn't really think about it as until he stopped me while I was walking away I didn't even realise it was him as it was in a dark section.

That's bizarre! Why is a Marshal knife killing anyone in the first place? Or was he playing the game and a Marshal?

I've been test hit on occasions by Marshals but a knife kill is just odd...

More importantly why did he make you walk back? Honesty checks fair enough but let the person play on.

He wasn't a player full marshal  there were no marshals playing this game mode.

That's out of order in that case. IMHO...

i would like to know what kind of justification you could have for doing that, especially if the player has evidently done well to get into a good position you can't just end that for no reason.
