The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Just trying to get gearbox back into lower receiver.

If the box goes in then you cant select anything then when you pull box back out the selector gets caught on disk inside the safety swirch and snaps.

just wasted 8 quid! been quoted £35 to supply and fit a new one.

I had that problem as well, tried to fit a new gearbox in my old M4 as stock one was crap. Snapped the stock selector plate on the new gearbox, then bought a new plate, was just as hard to get in, didn't snap the plate, but was really stiff to change fire mode, so sold the M4 and still got the gearbox sitting here :( .

Gonna build an M4 from scratch though (apart from the internals as I have all those..).

It could be worth smothering it in grease when you get another one. Well... if you do. £35 though... Nah, I'm sorry but that is taking the piddle!

I assume that, at some point, it wasn't so stiff?

Never had an issue with it. I upgraded the spring and then couldnt get the box back in.

managed to get the new plate on with out taking the box apart but then it wouldn't go back in.

£35 was from Zero One. Called Combat south (my local shop) and they said £40 plus part and if they break it I will have to buy another one!

It is all down to the G&P 8mm gearbox being a bitch. Friend of a friend has just started up and he said 22.50 all in.

They way I look at it is that there must be a way to get it all in and working, because it was working, so it's a matter of figuring it out.

In the factory they may have had a custom jig or tool to hold bits together so they could all be slid into the receiver at once with just a light spray of oil. You might find that some judiciously placed tape with trailing ends so they can be pulled out after might help.

Then again, £22.50 is a fair price... It'd just bug the arse off me until I'd sussed it out!

I should NEVER buy spray paint, I want to spray everything!

A pig, bit small for my taste though

I'm on my phone, so the pictures took a while to load, I thought you meant an actual pig..

What brand is it? I want one..

Gotta be the A&K? If anything purely because there are hardly any other VN 60s available on the market.

Just got hold of a osprey plate carrier with plates for 20 quid in dessert dpm will be picking it up Friday so pics to follow

at the risk of hi-jacking this thread, my new car, only £1100, and the insurance should cost £900.

not bad for a first time driver

yes, my M60 is on top, and i have every intention of fashioning a cradle and removable mount for it on the back, possibly a dual mount if i decide to get a second pig :D .

and this is going to be my last post on this section of the forum for a very long time.

Loving the African rebel look of the new ride and shame there isn't any sites big enough to use it as u inter to with that m60

my local is actually quite large and flat, and normally the marshalls are lenient, sometimes the landlord can be a bit of an arse though :( .
