Hi guys

my birthday is next week and I’m looking for a sniper now these are the choices I have. Please bare in mind I don’t have the money to be upgrading it any time soon. So here’s my choices.

Cyma m24 fluted barrel-seen airsoftcamman using it

classic army m24 ltr

Tokyo Marui gspec

Tokyo Marui l96

cyma vsr

now the reason why the ltr is on there is because I’ve seen airsoftology and swamp sniper use it and it carry’s a 90degree dear and 90degree piston etc. As I said the cyma m24 is on their because I’ve seen Airsoft cam man use it but again please bare in mind I don’t have the money to be upgrading.

Many thanks George

Personally, I’ve never met anyone who’s had any sort of success with a sniper rifle that hasn’t had virtually every part changed.

Out of the box the only one I've heard reasonable things about is the TM.

As stated above though, generally an airsoft sniper rifle is almost always about getting a good base to start from and upgrading the crap out of it!

Ok cheers mate but I thought the power would be just crap

Depends what you want from "out of the box performance". The TM is likely going to be the most accurate regardless of power. Otherwise I would suggest the Ares Striker.

Out of the box the TM will be the most accurate and have reasonable range. It is also the worst choice for upgrading in the future as you will be replacing almost every part. There really isn't anything in between. You either bite the bullet, open your wallet and build a good BASR, or you buy the TM and live with it as it is.

I think the Marius look a little out of place in your list if I’m honest! I mean all guns are £130 and under at least and your Marius are both £215+ (depending where you shop?).

i don’t have sniper experience, but price and brand name suggests it’s the best choice on the list. And again I’ve heard the same, that snipers all need a ton of upgrades.

so presumably the best bet is to grab a cheap gun with a view it’ll be upgraded.

what about a JG Bar 10 (sits in line with prices in your list).

or go cheaper with the Well MB03. I’ve heard good things about that as an upgrade platform. Coming it at around £60 compared to the bulk of your list that allows some £60-£80 to upgrade right away, or comparing with the Marius that’ll put you £170 available for upgrades!

Ok guys cheers but has any one got any good thoughts about the CYMA and classic army ltr

buy a TM, keep it stock, laugh at people when you hit them with your sub 300 fps gun from another postcode.

the less you spend, the more you spend. keep that in mind.. you don't need 70000000 fps, you need consistency.

Oh, the TM vsr is almost completely silent past 10m.

everything else on your list is crap.

like, dump another £250/300 in upgrades or throw it in the bin type of crap.

EDIT: every other gun in you list NEEDS to be heavily upgraded in order to be ON PAR with a stock TM.

Agreed. TM VSR is still the best platform if you don't know what you're doing and want something that shoots well.

Otherwise put aside a minimum of £200 for upgrading the barrel, hop unit, bucking, cyclinder, piston and trigger all at once. If you're not doing all of those then don't bother.

Even if the VSR is more accurate than the rest, it’s range is going to be no better than a bolt action TM recoil. Snipers only advantage is when they are out of your range but you’re still in theirs. None of the above offer you that sort of performance.

In general, specialist roles in airsoft require money and dedication to the craft in order to be successful. Have you considered a DMR?

Ok cheers guys now I’ve got an upgrade kit already for the asg urban sniper including

Black steel cylinder

90degree piston

90degree trigger

upgraded spring guide

etc

now ive got the parts but not the gun so I could either get a tm vsr or go for that urban sniper and have them parts put straight in it

many thanks

Also what’s the Tokyo soldier gas sniper rifle like I’ve seen it on Firesupport what’s it like

The best gas sniper rifle is the Asg/VFC m40a5. I love mine.

Your decision making is giving me ebola..

Why do I even read your posts?

Being a friendly person I always try to help and be somewhat useful.. But this is too much for me to handle lol.

He just bought an upgrade kit for a gun he hasn't got yet..

Inb4 he goes for a M110 and goodbye money..

Don't get me wrong @OneshotonekillOneshotonekill but get the gun first and then get the upgrades.. Or think about the upgrades then get the gun but always buy the platform first..

You remind me of a guy who played airsoft twice, bought €700 (uhm, about £550/600) with of useless stuff, he used said stuff once and now everything is collecting dust..

Plan your purchases, come on, it doesn't take much. Wanna get a sniper rifle? Ok, spend a week looking for a design that you like, spend a week looking for the "best" bang for your buck, spend a week doing research on upgrades (if needed)..

If after 3 weeks you haven't changed your mind, then buy it..

Experienced players don't need to do that because they already know what they are looking for, but I'm sure they did what I said at least once in their lifetime..
