Brought my first Airsoft gun! Opinions?

CYMA AKs are acceptable for the price. I wouldn't say they were excellent in any way at all though. Their M4s are really sub par.

 
Not been near their m4's so dunno, tried someone else's AK (having never owned an AK myself), & thought it was ok, slightly agricultural lol but I thought that was the whole point of a '47.

although I do have a socom m14 from cyma, having previously owned a TM m14, & I've no complaints there.

there was a cyma '74 reviewed in one of the mags recently, all kinda magpulled which does appeal to me though :) .

Hi Jason, notice you've gone a bit quiet or just bored of the comments lol!

Anyway we all assume you put your purchase up for advice from experienced players and techs, we are all generally hoping to help by making sure that you don't waste your money and that you enjoy the sport rather than getting pi$$ed cos you had a crap day out and are out of pocket.

Seeing as you have a right as a consumer I think most of us would advise you refuse delivery of the gun when it arrives, that means you don't have to pay return delivery and get a refund or exchange for a better gun.

If I were you I would for the same money buy a proven gun...

If you really dig an M4 style gun get a G&G CM16.

Some of the old school guns have stood the test of time, a great example is a Jing Gong MP5.

 
I had a look at a few reviews and it doesn't seem that bad for a starter.

Seems better internals than the entry level CYMA.

I'd be interested in your experience with it Jason.

TBH it wouldn't stop me using it now I'd brought it,perhaps it could be honed and become a weapon of mayhem.

When somone enters a forum and asks for advice "after" purchase then they should be able to appreciate positive and negative feedback,hindsight is a wonderful thing and with respect I don't think there would have been many votes for Nuprol if someone ask for reccomendations.

Live and learn,in a few months the OP will be giving advice like an old hand.

 
Something that's interesting to see is the difference of opinions between the forums and the facebook groups. On the forums the pretty much universal opinion of Nuprol stuff is it's crap but on the groups I constantly see people telling everyone how great their Nuprol Defender Super Duper Operator 5000 is the best thing ever and that everyone should buy one. I personally avoid Nuprol stuff anyway but I definitely wouldn't bother with any of their guns.

 
That's social media generally isn't it, "look what I've got it's the nuts" to make everyone think what they have is poo or their life isn't as good haha!

i didn't realise the 5000 model was out already, can't keep up, its like windows updates or the next latest BMW!

Thing is, the Nuprol is probably in same value-for-money ballpark as any other of our overpriced, shonkily engineered toys.  See:

Every airsoft gun I've seen, from the cheapest to the most expensive, is actually pretty neanderthal in real engineering terms. There is no myth. By and large, like the fiesta vs Ferrari, they are all governed by certain fundamental truths. They are - essentially - all the same within their individual sub groups. They are toys - dressed in fancy shells that look like the real firearms we particularly like the look or feel of, thats it. A $1000 dollar RIF, will launch its bb in the same manner, as a $100 dollar RIF, with identical hop up, barrel, and "push" behind it - thats all the BB cares about.

If you're enjoying yourself, you're winning.

 
That's very true. Is just that some can bang the rocks together without breaking.

I bought the same gun on the advice of my local shop and my local game site (they use them for hire guns)

I can't fault it, I'm relatively new but I've had no problems. It occasionally seizes but you switch to auto pull the trigger and it's fine again.  

There's good range, FPS around 310/320.

I can't see me sticking with it forever, but if you buy it two tone you save the hire charges for your first few games until you get UKARA. So if you take that saving into account it's like getting it half price and would be a great back up gun for when you move on.

 
I got a nuprol defender pioneer in a lovely blue as mine and my son's first gun.
I actually only bought it for plinking in the back garden with him.
However, after an afternoon of my and him obliterating cans in the back garden, shooting real people began to appeal, so I booked my first skirmish.
It's a nice light gun with a decent rate of fire and good range.
I got mine for about £110 iirc - and for that money, you can't go far wrong.
It's still working well and my son loves when we shoot with it (He knows it's his, ready for his first skirmish in, oh, I don't know, about 4 years!) ?

I hope your defender works out for you.

Unfortunately you came onto a forum with a lot of knowledge and experience and asked for people's opinions on a gun by a manufacturer that don't have the best write-ups.

Yeh,  but my MP5K is well better than yours.

 
I went to my first airsoft match and got a nuprol delta pioneer defender and it's miss firing on single shot. Does anyone know about this?  Please help
