Yep the trailer looked good but then again so did the one for the trashy Star Wars Battlefront! Looked a little steam-punked, hope this isn't the case.

Was exactly what I thought too

I'm surprised they are going with a WW1 setting, but quite interested to see what they do with it. Also keeping my fingers crossed that they finally release a Battlefield game with properly balanced planes :)

Can't wait for this. I just want to sit on a machine gun in a trench and wipe wave after wave of Englishmen out.

Trailer obviously jazzing things up - and why wouldn't it, needs to sell units, not a bad thing of course. Actually glad of the return to old school, hopefully it keeps things simple, keeps the number of weapon choices and attachments low. Also no DLC and mod support............MEH who am I kidding..

I've been conditioned over the years by WW1 films and endless hours playing Wings on my Amiga :-)

I really hate BF games, they're clunky and the net-code issue just ruins multiplayer for me.

I have always wanted a AAA ww1 game, but i don't think battlefield will do a good job honestly.

The casual nature of BF games doesn't really lend its self to the setting and I'm betting its going to be hugely non-historic and as someone who is an immense history buff and read a lot into the Great war. I can see that infuriating me, will probably buy it however.

BF's classic 'spongey' damage model where every gun feels like a pee-shoot really won't lend its self to a WW1 game. Bolt action rifles should be a 1 shot kill, but i think they will be a 2 or even 3 shot kill, which will completely ruin the game and everyone will r un around with submachine guns and shotguns, which is not really what ww1 was about.

I dunno... Give it a chance maybe? If you sign up to be part of the beta test, your input can make a difference to the end product. It did on BF 4 etc.

But... "BF's classic 'spongey' damage model where every gun feels like a pee-shoot really won't lend its self to a WW1 game"... Yep - BF1942 you'd only have about 2 magazines with a rifle and 90% of kills required 2+ shots.

Hopefully even if the standard game is just the same, Hardcoremode will once again offer hope.

Yep open beta later in the year so wait and see, plus E3 mid June so expect some gameplay porn out then.

Sadly however they are going down the DLC cash-cow route again, early access bullshit, Hellfire pack edition, Lawrence of Arabia pack hahahaha etc. Top of the line pack is a whopping £179.... It's all about constant revenue with Dice which is why modding support has been lacking since BF2. Still no one is putting a gun to your head to buy it. Supply and demand etc,

It's EA's business model not DICE, they're just the development team. EA is the cancer of gaming
