to be honest i leaning towards the a&K m249 para as it comes with a ris optic rail, but they seeem to be out of stock with affordable retailers   .So, what one did you decide, A&K M249 Mk2 ?
The STANAG bit is just useful if your box mag decides not to feed or runs outIts the box mag that attracts me rather than a stanag.
Does anybody know the difference between the A&K M249 Mk1 and Mk2 ?
I believe the L86is a good support unas long as you get the LSW edition and drum mags
I believe its because in real life it was the only model out of the Mk1 Mk2 and Para to be new enough to have the rails as standard. They were added onto the Mk2 as part of the Soldier Enhancement Program and Rapid Fielding Initiative not with the PIPwhat annoys the hell out of me, is why is it that only the para that has the ris optic rail as standard
There were actually box mags made for them, they just weren't used much/at all or something. He may have meantto say l85, then the lsw version of that tthat'd make more senseYou are aware the L86 and LSW are EXACTLY the same gun, theres no LSW edition... also don't get me started on putting box mags on a non support gun, it it was designed to have box mags they would be on the real thing...
yes around 200 were made but they were never more than a test because there isn't a quick change barrel so if you used the drum mag there was a high chance of the barrel warping under the heatThere were actually box mags made for them, they just weren't used much/at all or something. Also the fact that at the time in the mid 1980s, they were priced at about £250 per magazine. Which was about 3/4s of the price of the LSW they were meant for, so you can see why the idea issuing (several) drum-mags to each LSW gunner was quietly dropped.yes around 200 were made but they were never more than a test because there isn't a quick change barrel so if you used the drum mag there was a high chance of the barrel warping under the heat
