Gun picture thread

Back when my grey Scorpion was fresh out of the box, made for a good platform to build on. The hype for these has obviously thoroughly died off compared to a few years ago, but I features-wise I really like these as something inbetween the NGRS and a standard AEG. Definitely 'feels' close to the real thing and takes real handguards etc with usually minimal work.

Yea pretty much this, Ive had expensive TM's VFC's and GHK's so the natural progression was to get a VT which was literally inspired by Explosive enterprise and Badabing. Mine was purchased from CRW london, I think they're the only way to get a VT in the UK other than a proxy through the GBBR Discord. CRW seems to stock a small amount but will take a some what custom order for different variants but I think the wait is several weeks if not longer.

It was extremely expensive at £1850 but the quality is extremely nice, receivers are 6061 aluminum 'Forged CNC' bodies which is apparently the equivalent to a real civilian spec AR and utterly overkill for airsoft. I havnt shot it much at all as im more of a collector apparently it needs a few thousand bb's through it to ware in which mine more than likely wont experience🤣
Is the build noticeably better/different in the hands compared to your previous GBBRs?

My current MWS clone feels sturdy, but I’m pretty sure a couple of mild drops or knocks will show up its pot metal origins.

I’m more of a player than collector, but I like the idea of a solidly built gun I can put 000s of rounds through and have it build up a patina of use over its life without having to baby it too much.

You can throw them around a lot more on the field, just drop it onto concrete to pull out a sidearm and not worry if the gun will be happy about it.

That said, they're also not indestructible and they have a long break-in period. They seem to perform pretty great overall though.

For sure you notice the quality, its also very heavy at around 5kg but if your more of a player then you cant go wrong with an MWS those things are a marui master piece.

A few pics of my past and present Gat paint/weather jobs for your perusal 😉

Some beautiful pieces in that collection mate, love all the 60s to 90s / cold war era stuff!

Question regarding the quoted colt 9mm carbine kit: what is that forward carry handle mount you've put your C-more on?

I think I saw it on the Garand thumb m16a2 video and have actually been looking for that mount ever since but with no luck. I want to mount my own C-more that way too.

Any links or pointers as to where I could find it would be great!

Hi Zarrin

Thanks for the compliment mate.  I actually started off with this Z Carry Handle Rail and heavily modded it to suit.  I did it several years ago, now I'd just ask someone to 3d print one.  The bit that the C-More sits on is just 20mm bar I bought from Ebay and bolted it to the part that forms the Carry Handle bit.

Ah I see, so same as what I have... that's a lot of material you took off 😮 ...the Z carry handle is quite heavy, and your rendition looks nice and light:

3D print might be a good shout though 🤔

Mine as is:

Just checking again and it looks like what Garand Thumb had is actually a self contained red dot with the carry handle attachment built in:

i wonder what it is, need to dig a bit

Garand Rhumbs wasn't the C-More set up, but more like the Israeli version as they use a lot of carry handle AR's still today.

Yeah I did a lot to it but couldn't find an alternative at the time.  Just cut the rail part off the top carry handle section to match the slant of the handle and you'll need to file it like I did.  Then cut straight down from the edge towards the fsp then attach a piece of metal the desired length and width.  Then respray it.  Take the 20mm mount off the C-More and drill the correct hole so you can mount it to the flat metal bar.  Sounds long winded and probably get a 3d printed one for less hassle but it's better than I'm making it sound lol.

Yeah 👍, will have to chuck it on the list of projects - will defo see if I can find someone to 3d Print something along these lines first.

Mmm I wondered if it might be an Israeli one too, the red dot itself looks a little bit trijicon-esque.

Edit***

Yeah here we go: https://www.trijicon.com/discontinued-products/details/rx01-10

Yeah that seems to look better mate.   Although it still has the rail for attachments rather than just bolting the C-More on directly which I have copied from the original.  But ultimately it's all up to you bud.
