How do you define "competitive"? I was able to outplay opponents running guns from £800 to £1000 while I had a ~£110 P90 until I decided to spend more money sorting out its trigger.
Is there one feature you're dead set on having that is present in one gun but absent in the other? That may be your deciding factor.
Reliability is relative. Every brand of skirmishable AEGs does its odd bad apple. I'd say reliability is much better today than when I first played donkey's years ago. I reckon that's owed greatly to the market being so competitive that even entry to mid-level products are made to higher standards and have features you'd only have seen toward the top end of the market.
