The 'What have you just bought' Thread

So for a long time my a&k pkm was my most used gun. I loved it but I hit a point where I desperately needed money to buy stock for my business. And so it was sold. I did miss it a lot and recently things have gotten more stable. Then this lct full steel pkp popped up and here we are. Makes me glad ive been working out. Unfortunately my normal rifle slings are making unhappy noises at me under the 11kg (not including the handguard on it and the optic I will be putting on it) if anyone has a a recommendation for a good padded sling id be happy to hear them as I intend to run this a lot.

Unless you want to spend a fair bit on something new production, sounds like time to dig around local surplus/ebay for an old issued Minimi or GPMG sling.  They're super wide and well padded and built to outlast all of us.

 
I have just consumed a Well Pro WE06 PPK 20 and its just gone off to the nice cerakote man. :D

Just nabbed a mimimi sling though its a desert one so it will need some spray paint. The gpmg slings seem to be impossible to find for under £40 but the minimi one was £13 posted so thanks!

 
Picked up a boneyard WE GBBR for something to tinker with over the winter... only to find it wasn't actually broken unless i'm yet to stumble over the real issue. I was told that the nozzle return spring was broke and there 'may be more wrong with it'. The mag has a tiny tiny tiny leak but that likely just needs seals lubing.

First attempt at testing it was a dud - it sounded like the hammer dropped but it didnt actually fire. I split the receiver to find a BB was stuck between the hammer and mechanism housing so it was releasing the hammer which then jammed on the BB so it wouldn't shoot. Second attempt at testing worked fine - made it through a whole mag no issue and the bolt held open when empty.

I removed the bolt and disassembled it - the stock nozzle spring is totally fine. If anything it's a little weak which could have lead to the incorrect diagnosis(?) so I replaced it with a £10 AngryGun replacement i'd already bought. This spring is a bit twangy so I may go back in and give it a light coating of grease as i've read that's a good way of damping noise. Regardless, I tested it again and it's running totally fine and at the start of the mag it chrono's at 345fps on .20g.

Not a big fan of the KAC handguard or the A2 front sight post/gas block setup or the standard stock. Not sure what i'm going to do with it aesthetically - might have to go back through the M4 picture thread and take inspiration from there. Good thing about the way it's made is that the outer barrel is threaded just after the A2 front sight post so I can turn it into a shorter barrel setup really easily.

Do you get much co-witness with the ACOG and A2 front post?

What happened to that "handguard AEG store" on Aliexpress? They used to have lots of items with line-drawings of the handguards plus pictured reviews but now there's almost nothing. Did it get purged?

Any other places to browse handguards/rails?

Having previously splurged (what feels to me) far too much for a Kydex Customs holster for my toy Glock (£70)

And adding a flashlight to the pistol, I needed another holster

Looking on their website again a couple of weeks ago, I was kinda shocked that a suitable replacement was gonna empty my wallet of almost another £90!
Im not saying they aren’t good, My non light bearing holster is superb, but buying another one pains my budget!!

So I had a trawl about Ali Exp and found a good looking substitute for a 1/4 of that cost, but not available wrapped to blend in to my loadout.

I sacrificed a pouch that I wasn’t going to use, got my wife’s thread picker out and got set about deconstructing the pouch

Next came wrapping the Ali Exp holster using evostick adhesive, then fitted a spare QLS mount to allow me to swap between the two.

No problems with the holster, with plenty of room for the higher “Supressor” Iron Sights.

I still have to burn the edges with a lighter/candle to clean up the stray threads and stop fraying.

I’m Very happy with the result
