First rifle

okay i think i get where you are getting confused (don't worry there is a lot to learn we all get confused!) there is a difference between an aeg with blowback and an GBB.

an aeg with blowback is a rifle that uses battery's and a gearbox to work, but it has a small plate on the ejection port that moves back and forth creating a simulation of the real thing.

a gas blowback, is where the the gun uses gas to work that is stored in the mag,it uses a bolt and some fancy stuff that i have no idea about as dad wont let me touch his gbb m4! but the problem is that a gas blowback mags only hold 30 rounds, and as a starter you should go with an aeg if it has blowback its fine dont worry nothing really to maintain but if you go with a GBB for your first gun without any experience with airsoft guns gbb or aeg probably not the best bet honestly go for an G&G AEG combat machine !

any particular questions please ask we will all be happy to help!!

I will take your advice. Aeg it is. If I buy the combat machine G&G, is it easily upgraded as I'd like to go for metal parts when more cash is available.

Metal parts aren't all their cracked out to be, a lot of low quality metal is used in airsoft parts- we had a member who dropped one of their ICS metal M4s when taking it out of his attic and the receiver snapped in two.

TBH if you want metal, get one of the G&G Top Techs. They're more expensive as there's metal in it, it's got stamped markings, unique serial number etc and the Gen 2s and 3s have some internal changes from the originals. You can pick up a basic Gen 3 M4 for £250, and if you can find any Gen 2s floating around, they'll be on at about £200.

But honestly I'd get a G&G Combat Machine for the time being, and maybe in a year or so buy yourself a Top Tech or a G&P rifle. G&P have the best externals by far out of the manufacturers and OK internals- if you get a gun tech to have a look at it or ask the retailer to put some upgrades in while it's in store for a bit extra, then it'll be great.

Their moderators are terrible and ban people for minor offences. They also don't allow the posting of links to retailers and forums other than ZeroOne and ZeroIn.

Why would they? they are owned by zeroone. You dont go into mc donalds and see adverts for BK whoppers on the walls.

I don't really mind however it's not great for newer players or people on a budget as parts, guns and accessories can be cheaper elsewhere.

True, But all they have to do is use google to find them. More fool them if they pay for the first thing they see without shopping around.

I dont see why people have an issue with that at all. It's their company, if you disagree, find another forum or make your own forum for that sake.

But I do much prefer the people on AFUK.

Unfortunately not everybody knows 1) how to use google properly or 2) what they're supposed to be looking for in the first place. Advice from ones peers is often invaluable - I for one would have been none the wiser when I was thinking about getting an AK without asking here first. Had I asked the same question on ZeroIn then the discussion couldn't have included makes other than those that Z1 sell.

There is always one that has to pose a counter argument

The simple fact of the matter is that they use censorship. Censorship causes ignorance. Ignorance causes dickheads.

Now couple that with the fact that many, many people here have had bad dealings with them.

Censorship shouldn't be allowed.

Anyway back on track, don't want to ruin the thread with arguments, that's why you have private messages ladies!

+1 for the CYMA cm045 and 048 series. Brilliant starters if you are looking for an alternative to the M4 which everyone has these days.

However they are a little difficult to find but you can get them nice and cheap from the Polish shops, Taiwan Gun and Gunfire.

They may be a little hot aswell but once you get it sorted it will last you for years and the performance is punching well above its price range!

Don't tell me what I can or cannot do in my home/page (didn't even intend that pun when i started writing)! :)

would recommend the cyma not only for starters, even if you want to upgrade it's a solid platform - if you can live with the pot metal parts

G&G Combat machines are great guns to start off with and are very upgradable. I would not get a Blowback one as they do very little and dont really sound that cool, also putting more wear on the gearbox and making it harder to work on.
