Another disappointing outcome. Some people just don't like taking hits.

Despite shooting the guy a dozen times, I could see the BB's bouncing off hit helmet, the guy (HPA player again) lights me up with some serious overkill. I called him out over his overkill as in the briefing it was stipulated to not shoot at people more than 3 times as in 3 hits max.

The cheeky *ucker then said to me to *uck off home if I'm going to have a mardy. 

Despite me hitting him, he still proceeds to remove one of the bags from the bank (game was cash grab) so I shoot back at him over his head and the a hole shoots me in the back three times.

This was the same guy that tried calling me out for not taking hits, his exact words were "Take you hits"... 

The guy hadn't hit me once with a shot as I could see the incoming and what hit me was a ricochet that doesn't count.

It was noticed by other players that one player, I expect Mr in question was the same guy others had complained about not taking hits, one situation I was backing up another player and we both hit the same guy, I was giving suppression fire and managed to hit his elbow and the guy I was backing got him right in his shrimp.

Marshalls were told and words I believe were had with the guy but it still didn't change the way the guy ignored taking hits.

I got that sick of it, I left the arena early and packed my stuff and waited for my son to come out at the end.

Makes me wish there was a system like Laser Quest games where if you're hit, you can't shoot back and you have to respawn before you can fire again.

Took my almost new AK out to an indoor range which was pretty cool until it crapped itself and started firing multiple shots on semi-auto

What battery are you using?  I've experienced overspin and double-firing on everything ~1.1J-ish that I've thrown an 11.1V into.  Others haven't, it seems to be more luck than science, even by airsoft standards.

On Sunday my dad and I took a trip out to First and Only's Anzio Camp after dropping me back off at Uni. It's something a little different for us, usually playing woodland sites and being very sneaky doing so but we decided to give it a go.

On arrival we turned up to a fairly generously sized safe zone consisting of 2 old buildings and a large barn, with the usual free teas and coffees, along with a very good onsite shop. Chrono opened promptly and was run efficiently, and the FPS tested on the weight of bb you will be using. Around the safe zone where signs telling players that the safety briefing took place at 9:30, and that if you missed you, you would be briefed at 11, a great way to keep the game going despite players who insist on turning up last minute and taking ages to get ready. The brief was called promptly and was thorough without being too long. 

The day started out with a game based around holding the med building, with the aim of assessing the skill level on each team in order to balance them out, and a few players were switched around after this game and throughout the day in order to try and keep the teams balanced. The rest of the games where based around the yellow team having a downed pilot in a building and having to extract them, the red team having to get a bomb along with the technician to each of the "D" buildings and hold them for 5 minutes to set the bomb off (The highlight of the day for me, although I think the game would have run better if the defenders had 2 lives in each building, as the game ended with the entire yellow team defending one building), and finally a competition to hold the Pub and Med building for the longest time. It was in this last game where the issues came out for us. Firstly, quite a few members of the yellow team left as they felt that they were being hammered all day and the teams were one sided, and this also resulted in the remaining players becoming quite frustrated and tempers boiling over at times. However, to their credit, the marshals were trying to balance the teams out the whole time, even in the last game.

Overall it was a not a brilliant day due to some of the issues with game design and the high tempers towards the end, but it was still better than a lot of sites and we would definitely return again.

Dad: CA HK33 and HK53, Milbro classic 1911

Hey, it was just the 7.4v LiPo the shop said was the one to go with, does that sound wrong?  I play at a site with full-auto allowed so not a massive deal if it can't be fixed I guess but not ideal for a first trip out with it!

I believe you'll find they still have a rule about when full-auto can be used. ie not at all in certain games and also not when you're within a certain distance.

True, there is a semi-only rule in the buildings.  I'd kinda forgotten about that  .  I guess I can use the rubber knife

Indeed. I know my local site, which is a woodland site and therefore there is much full-autoing, states no full auto under 10m and some game types or actions they restrict to semi-auto only. Also, I know at some other events (AI500 and some Vietnam games) I've been to have stipulated semi-auto only unless you're a support gunner with a proper support gun, which is a rule I quite like!

Belated quick review of last Fridays evening session at Tier 1 CQB in Cornwall. My son and I arrived a bit early to get gear ready and were surprised to see how busy the prep area was. Some good players in and had a near full house with evenly matched teams. The owner of the site Josh was, as always, a good marshal and gives a very firm and fair briefing before every game. 
 

Lots of variety in the games from TDM to cops and robbers. The venue has recently been re configured and the new layout works really well. The 2.45 hour  sesh was over in a flash with some excellent exchanges and teamwork. 
 

The Tier 1 indoor venue is an absolute hidden gem down here in gods country (Cornwall), with regular evenings for both walk ins and rentals accommodated for.

Another chilly, but dry day means it was a good day for me today. M700 is still shooting really, really nicely and I got a LOT of people as it was a pretty target rich environment with 90 players on site. First two games were brilliant, with me finding a few new angles to exploit with the sniper rifle, but by the end of the 2nd game I could see people getting frustrated. What this translated to was a snowball on both teams of absolutely laughable hit taking up to and after lunch. There was one guy who I kept picking off in the 2nd game, but after lunch I was watching my .48s bounce off him and he just ignored them, even after recoiling from the hit after I sent one into his cheek. Took cover behind the tree again and then started spraying around the corner. When you have days with hit taking like that, you've got to laugh it off; letting it get to you just ruins your day, so I don't let it get to me and just laugh at the ridiculousness of it.

Also spent a little time setting up my SR-25, but while it was 1.17J with the hop off, when I applied enough to properly hop .32s the power was down to 0.63J (though it was floating the BBs out to a 50m target without issue), so I'll be sticking a bigger spring in it to get the power up to where it should be. Thankfully it's a quick change spring, so it's pretty easy to tweak.

However, I wasn't feeling the mp7 today. It's an AEP, so it works in all weathers, but I just prefer pistols (including the NBB mk23) or GBB SMGs. I can't explain it, I just prefer pistols and they're a bit more manoeuvrable. That said, I didn't need to use the mp7 in game once today. Nobody got within my MED as when they pushed up I elected to bug out instead of staying and fighting. Falling back to another position and hitting them again is far more useful than staying in position and letting them swarm all over you, but it definitely takes it out of you. Just glad my fitness routine is paying off now as I'm able to play a bit more mobile (which is usually for falling back because if I'm advancing it's usually a slow crawl instead).

Very much enjoying the m700 though. Definitely my favourite gun at the moment because it's silent, it feels like a real rifle as opposed to my VSR which definitely feels like a toy gun, and I can run it at either 2.3J or 1.1J and it works well at both powers (obviously with some hop adjustment). Roll on next game day, though what I'm really looking forward to is the first Vietnam game at Eversley in April!!!

Went to The Gaol, Oakham for a private game at the weekend, the ARABS FB crew. 

I understand why it was on my "must visit" list. If you get the opportunity, go, do a game day. 

The admin block makes a fine safezone didn't hear a single dry fire (again didn't expect to-private day). 

Safety brief was to the point, expansive and humourous, Justin's "my playground, my rules" were always safety and play based. 

Crono: in jules....my BB slinger apparently shit itself at some point and wouldn't work. Thankfully my brother brought his spare- other wise I would have been on pistol all day (more on that later)

Games, were "fun" let me expand - the long game they play is very much you get better the more you play, but I guess that's the same everywhere. I did really like the maps with objectives and timings for everyone, that makes a new to site player feel real welcomed. 

Back to long game - the stretcher they use is bloody heavy! Like, let's not bother with this for the whole morning heavy. We did move it to a kill zone just in case the blues did think about it. 

Inside, well, it was my first real cqb site and I have maybe played too many horror games ? all good fun, except g block, fuck that.

But seriously amazing site, very well marshaled AND A MEATBALL ROLL FOR LUNCH! Best included grub at an Airsoft site ever. 

There were times I did in fact just run around with a pistol. For no other reason than I wanted to (long rifle was other option...) and I loved it. 

The new rig is great (arkus para style) and I didn't loose a mag for the 226, I did drop one right at the end of the day....new feed lips required. 

Over all a stunning day with the drive back being filled with nothing but smiles and a cheeky harvester for dinner.

As we left my brother (who drove up from Portsmouth) was doing the maths on how early he would need to get up for the next trip up ?. 

Would 100% go again given half a chance.

I feel so sorry for that poor M14 ? though it is probably less butchered than what I have done to one of my M14s ?...

I need to get back to Red Alert at some point soon, it is such a nice field and so well run, the lunch is always a great bonus there. Off to Abingdon this Sunday to play there, hopefully I can get another clear weekend soon and make it back up to Red Alert Newbury again.

Following our recent adventure oop north as described in Weeble200's post above, I spent today at Tower Airsoft, one of my regular sites in the sarf east.

About 50 people were present to indulge in shooting each other with little plastic balls.  For a change, the games were organised by the team from Airsoft Plantation, Tower's big brother at the other end of the wood.

We started off with a simple ambush game which, as the name suggests, involved one team ambushing the other as they patrolled along the road through the site.  The patrolling team's key rule of engagement was that they had to stay on the road and could not shoot until engaged by the ambushers; once that had happened, they were free to return fire and go wherever they wanted.  Patrollers had infinite regens on a marshal, whereas the ambushers only had one life.  I was dubious about the game at first, but it turned out to be rather fun, with both teams getting a go at being the ambushers and the ambushees; the team that cleared the ambushers out in the fastest time form the first shot being fired were the winners, with a one minute penalty for each ambusher still alive after the area had been declared clear by the patrollers.

After that, we played the first leg of a longer game using the whole site.  The concept was that the attacking team had been parachuted in ahead of a seaborne invasion with a mission to destroy a road via which the enemy would receive reinforcements, a comms centre, and a vital bridge.  In order to destroy these, the attacking team had a designated demolition specialist, equipped with electrically triggered smoke grenades (no bangs allowed at Tower due to the proximity of neighbours), an electric detonator and a remote control.  They could attack them in any order they wanted but had to start dispersed across the site out of sight of each other as a result of the drop.  The defenders had to start around the road.

Both sides had infinite buddy regens at the start; however, once two objectives were destroyed, the defenders were down to two lives as no further reinforcements could get through.

We were the attackers and the group of about five of us who banded together after our dispersed drop decided to try to draw as many of the enemy as possible onto us rather than onto the team with the demolition specialist.  This was successful as we spent a lot of the hour engaging much larger groups of the enemy and all targets were destroyed.

After lunch, we played a fallback game, defending the road, then the castle area and, finally, the church.  The enemy captured the road and the castle, but not the church.  This was then reversed and we captured all three.

We then played the reverse of the paratroopers game, with us as the defenders.  I will draw a veil over this game, except to note that, despite some great play, we got walloped.

It was a good, fun day with great play from both teams and no significant issues apart from my M4 deciding yet again not to feed from most of the magazines that it had happily fed from on Friday evening; it seemed to only like the PTS PMags.  However, I have now modified some other mags that should now feed perfectly in it, although I suspect that it will still find a way to reject them.

I also bought a cheap Double Eagle shotgun from the site shop and got a kill with my third shot from it; it shoots at 1J and has excellent range; great fun.

Started out OK but then the some HPA hole was shooting players in the hands and targeting the weapons, my son too a fair few hits as I did to the hands, in my sons case, he had his torch shot to bits and damaged, just like mine the month before and these things come with toughened PC lenses to withstand a sniper 2.5J job.

Luckily I had taken precautions the couple of weeks before where I added some clear plastic, the stuff from shrunk wrapped store items, the thick stuff and added a couple of layers before and after the lens and that saved the actual LED being blown to bits like min was.

I have a pretty good idea who the player is now as they don't take their hits and was the HPA hole that was trigger spamming everyone as well as overkill.

I'd really like to see a game day with no HPA and AEG and GBB pistols only and have an even playing field.

Some sites do apply weapon rules, the gaol (for example) do a week day game with gbbrs, pistols and shotguns only. 

I've noticed lots of HPA on my last few games but I haven't noticed a change in player behaviour thankfully, so I'd recommend trying new sites. Based on your recent posts either all HPA players are twats or I'd suggest you actually need a better site that addresses players with problem behaviours.

I remember people talking about systema owners and changing the power settings, quick change springs etc after chrono and while it's possible, in 11 years I don't think I've seen a single case of that.

Some folks are just beyond help eh? As is often misatrributed to Mr Einstein, 'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.'

At this point going into every game with the mentality that you're going to hate it alongside every person that chooses to use a tank and a line as their propellant of choice will result in you convincing yourself of anything to justify your preconception. Maybe stick to target shooting, because I'm not sure being shot back at is entirely for you at this point. I'm picturing you're a bit of a safezone dweller as is.
