Hi.

I started Airsoft when I was 9 and have been hooked ever since. I am now 13. Over the years I have acquired a lot of kit. I get mixed remarks about me having kit that sometimes looks better than the middle aged guys who have been playing for 10+'years. As you can see in the pic. What do you guys think. Please no hate

I think your loadout looks ace mate, and it will serve you well as you go.

Having a hobby is important and it will teach you more than you realize in life & I think its ace that you do something your interested in, keep at it dude and hopefully some of us will see you on the sites kicking ass.

On the subject of age, I'm taking my 11 year old to his first skirmish this year, he's been to the site in question & the guys who run it have seen how he is when handling a rif & how he responds to safety procedures, they had a meeting about it & decided to fill out all forms to allow this to happen. I will be his responsible adult & this will be done with all the requested safety procedures in mind.

I agree with the post above, you can wrap kids in cotton wool too much, and up to a point it is getting silly, but on the flip side we also underestimate kids too often.

I was unsure at first about my son's age but after speaking to the organizers who were very impressed with his mannerisms & willingness to learn, they made the decision to give him the opportunity to skirmish, the encouragement offered to newer generations of Airsoft players is very important, teach them well and the sport will flourish, discourage, patronize & victimize them then your looking at a dead sport populated by cliques.

I think it's a good thing. Aks your own forces who have been to Iraq or Afghanistan. There are kids walking with guns. And when you came to close the aim it at you.

"is it a game?" "is it defending ther homes?" or "does he want you killed because the think you don't belong there"

You as adult have to pull the trigger, what would you do?

No kids (-18) must be playing with toys/ gamining or flirting with the other sexe. And when you are grown up you can start playing with guns.

This because you than better realise what they can do. That safety rules are not something to f*ck with.

I have been serving the Dutch army for 7 years till 2011. and i'm lucky that i didn't have to make the choice about the child with the gun.

I've seen a few places in England where the site allows under 16's if accompanied by an adult and a parent has to sign the insurance waiver, there was a kid who must have been around ten at Frontier Airsoft on Sunday, I didn't really like shooting at him until he got me but some guy sprayed him and his mate point blank in the face which was a tad harsh, it's lucky he had full face protection on

theres letting a kid get the bus and then letting them go skiing. in minus 20-30 conditions where frost nip/ bite are real possiblities. thats just irresponsible. im all for letting my kids play and get hurt and do stupid stuff. but not unsupervised dangerous.sports.

Oof a spray in the face is harsh to anyone.

But when my boy is playing I'm letting anyone have free reign on him, if he gets hit, he takes it, simple as that.

None of this go easy on him just because he's younger, being treat differently will teach him nothing. He's a tough kid he can take it.

as far as rules of age afik, you have to be 13 and whilst under i think 18 supposed to wear full face over here(least thats what my site says) however i know the age limit isnt overly strict, specially if a guardian is playing too.

i kinda accidentally shot a kid full auto short range and made him cry once, was aiming for a bigger person behind his postition as he popped round the corner.... felt so bad. and apoligised but what can ya do it happens. was almost as bad as the time i was shooting a guy as he ran towards a bridge, must hve distracted him and he ran into the bridge face first, which i didnt see, thought he had dived and shot him on the ground only to hear the marshals whistle and realise what had happened...

In this qwestion a lot of nuances and asprcts.

I start play when i was 10. We use only spring guns and full face protection, we play whit gyus the same age.

In the end if people in same age harm each other it's ok and from the point of the law and with human.

At my opinion the kid which play with ower 20 year men in airsoft it's too dangerous.

As for Teo i belive he good gyu, and may bee it's be nice to play with him.But...

OK people, we do not need any more discussion about armed children and/or the relevance of airsoft to their plight, because clearly there is none. To some people the subject matter is upsetting, to others irritating, but however we as individuals feel about it, off topic it most certainly is.

Think 16 is the age limit on TWA, anyone under 18 is required full face mask thou. and when we still could go up on the roof no under 18s allowed.

Edit. seems I was mistaken. dunno what made me say 16 when I know players younger than that are there every game. cant find a minimum age (even thou I am sure they have one) in the site rules as stated on their homapage... here's all age related I could find in it:

"Any player under the age of 17 MUST wear a full face mask."

"If thunder flashes or BB grenades are used, and do not detonate after you have thrown them - LEAVE THEM ALONE - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PICK THEM UP! They are not available to anyone under the age of 18."

"Players under the age of 16 must have insurance waiver form signed by their parent or guardian before they will be allowed to play."
