Winter or summer player

Now the sun is high in the sky and the rain seems a distant menace, how many of you are going to start playing Airsoft again? Is it me or is it more fun when it’s dry and warm and you don’t come home covered in mud. Are you a fair weather player too?

All year round. this country has a mild climate. Winter/Spring/Autumn are much more comfortable seasons to play in than Summer.

I actually prefer cold/mild temperatures in Autumn and Winter as long as it's not raining heavily. It's much more comfortable for me than in the baking heat of late Spring and Summer.

I play all year except when there is very heavy rain.  Getting covered in mud is part of the fun.

Is it wrong to encourage rentals to perform... reconnaissance?

As above, the colder (and drier) the better.

At Airsoft Plantation there is a reasonably deep pond on the site boundary at the edge of the village; it is not unknown for a player to mistake it for surface water.

I'd like to add that I like POW despite it's 'moist' terrain, it's the nearest site to me and holds a schpeshal place in my airsoft heart (despite my infrequent gamedays), it's just easier in the drier months.

I like the weather like I like my women, cold and dry. Play all year round, go for the social as much as the playing aspect.  Sites round here are a lot busier in the summer months though.

When i was playing regularly it was all year round, can't say I liked rain much but I wouldn't let it put me off.

Fast forward to the present day, I don't play often enough, & when I do, the thought of every slip in the mud leaving me in pain for days or weeks afterwards doesn't inspire me, so I think it's fair to say I've become a bit of a fair weather player.

but so far this year I’ve been lucky.

Summertime, I just take of a layer or two of bubble wrap so as I don’t get to warm, and hydrate!

I think as I've gotten a little older i've lost my patience for muddy fields and rainy days...  having said that I played at Plantation a couple of years ago in December on a crisp sunny day when it was around -1 to 0 all day and the ground was frozen solid, it actually made for a great time. As long as you're dressed up and have a good anti fog system. Would take those conditions over slushy mud anytime. The aesthetics of the site were great too, everything was frosted over pretty much all day.

For me a perfect day of airsofting would be the same conditions as a perfect day for riding my motorcycle (part of the problem choosing between the two ?)

Dry and sunny but not too hot.  (Around 15-20c)

I play all year round, but I am 100% more of a summer player. Everyone calls me a fair weather airsofter because I don't like the wet (mostly the wet), and I'm not as keen on the cold. And then when the summer heat comes around the shoe is very much on the other foot and I start ridiculing them for being wimpy over a little bit of warmth as this country very rarely gets to temperatures that I can't play in. Usually has to be accompanied by high humidity.

However, I did used to play airsoft in the south of Spain. We'd have to stop game days there at lunch time during the summer because that was simply too warm to play. However, too warm being "hey, it's almost 40 celcius" instead of "it's just over 20 celcius"

To me Sir Ranulph Fiennes said it best.

There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

I play all year round and I don't mind a bit of rain etc as the bad weather can add an extra element to games, eg reduced visibility or the rain covering noise. Just dress for the conditions.

I understand though if others would rather stay home when the weather is bad

Alternatively bad weather can be a good excuse to visit a cqb site if possible. Wht worry about the weather if you're indoors
