Will an airgun chronograph work with airsoft guns?

I've been an air rifle shooter for many years, and have always had my own chronograph. My current model, and the best that I have owned, is made in Poland and has never failed.

I know it can read lead pellets, but would it be able to sense plastic bbs?

Do I need an airsoft chronograph?

As long as it can read down to a speed of 250fps and a 6mm projectile I don't see why not?
