Whats the worst experience with 'Cod Softers'

what kind of parent buys their kid a Systema?!

besides, even the best gun isn't going to outrange your G&G by much more than a few yards, if they were the be all and end all of airsoft everyone would have to have one! Get a smidge closer, good gear does not a good airsoft player make.

It's not really their performance, it's their attitude. As in not listening to other players who may be able to help them with an issue (one was struggling to find a holster for his TM DEagle) because their gear is on a lower level and they're wearing DPMs.

Even more reason to get a team up and take them.

If you have the right teamwork, you can outgun them with stealth and tactics.

there's a 'team' like that plays at a site I occasionally go to, they all have their matching gear and think they're the dogs danglies (they're not, herd of poorly camouflaged elephants springs to mind), I find it's easiest just to avoid them. I don't speak to them, they don't speak to me because I'm a mere mortal and I'm not wearing A-TACS.

One day they'll realise that A-TACS AU isn't all that great in the woods!

That's pretty much all I and some other guys do. In a free for all game mode, a few of the guys I squad up with and me completely smashed them, to the point that they were accusing us of cheating despite there being a marshal stationed directly behind us. All we were doing was occupying a couple of the huts in this 'village' area of the site, but they didn't have the brains or balls to do anything to counter it and there was only 4 of us and 9 of them!

So what's your beef, that their parents can afford to buy them £2,000 PTWs? If so, dry your eyes and move on, there's always someone with more money/better car/fitter wife.

Be happy with what you've got and plan for what you want to get, ignore those who have greater means, theirs or those they're borrowing from others.

lol

I generally dont get that annoyed at games. I am there to have fun, and that means running around a forest shooting people :D

Its also a great way to get fit (My excuse to the wife!)
You know that's the same excuse I give my wife lol

I've said it before but the people that annoy me the most are the ones that get all shirty because you're not "doing it properly". It's a game. It's supposed to be fun. If you come to an open day event and expect everyone to be a Milsimmer then you're going to be disappointed/upset/abused. If you get upset because there's too many kids running about with bright orange "toy guns" then maybe you need to move on to a different site (let's not forget that a £300 G&G is STILL a "toy gun") and a different style of play.

Maybe it's just being a bit older but I just can't get that annoyed by people at a game that aren't playing the same way as I am unless they're just being total dicks and you don't need to be a "CoDsofter" to act like a dick. In fact I've seen more "me big serious soldier, me wear multicam everything" types acting like dicks because they just got pwned by a kid with a see through G36.

There is room for all of us on the battlefield of plastic death so get on and enjoy the game/sport/hobby for what it is and let's stop the infighting before it destroys it all for everyone.

i agree with you that there's always people in life that will have things better than you.

the majority of the time these kids that use daddy's money like the rag they keep under their bed are not even worth bothering with. like its been said they usually (not all of them mind you) use these guns as an extension of their winky doodles and seem to think having a top system makes them big man on campus.

best bet is like its been said play how you feel, learn to use what you've got and it wont bother you.

i learnt very quickly that it seems the more people spend on their guns the more time they spend worrying over that rather than the game!

In September, I was paired with a young lad, maybe as young as ten (parents were on site and in the game) and he was brilliant! He listened to me when I was communicating to him, he made a few good suggestions....he even took down a guy with an m60e with a Cyma mp5 hire gun! He lay down cover fire and didn't rush in like an idiot....wasn't even my son and I was still proud haha!!!

Only had one bad experience with a Codsofter. He had a bright green m4a1 (SRC I beleive) and he wouldn't take his hits....even if it was painfully obvious that he had been hit from only a few feet away. Needless to say, most of the hires were lads on a stag do....the Codsofter suffered afterwards! He became the objective for every mission.

Marshall: 'Ah right lads, you're aim is to defuse the bomb in under ten minutes'

Stag members: 'No, we're going to kill that little shit with the green rifle!'

Worst I've had with a codsofter was when his wee kid (probably about 12) came up to me and asked me what gun I was using.

*enter codsofter*

CS: hey, uh, what gun are you using?

Me: This? It's my CYMA MP5K. I got it fo---

CS:*butting in* THAT'S NOT AN MP5K!

Me: You what?

CS: The MP5K doesn't have a single vertical foregrip built in!

< The model that I assume that he was on about: http://images.wikia.com/callofduty/images/archive/6/65/20120120043427!MP5K_menu_icon.png >

Me: *getting increasingly angry* It CLEARLY does.

CS: DUDE! I use the MP5K in Modern Warfare and---

Me: *cutting him off* So, what you are saying is that because you play Call of Duty, you are a weapons expert?

CS: That's not what I said

Me: you heavily implied it

CS: Anyway, I don't really care. I just wanted to know where you got your Kipras

On a sidenote, MY MP5K LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THAT FOOPING GUN!

My son who was 13 at the time recieved a bright orange l96 rifle complete with scope/bipod for xmas, it was just because he wanted to shoot targets in our back garden. Which turned out to be really fun, at the time I never heard of airsofting and I'm not sure he did, but after researching about his gun and a few others we found a site close to us and i took him for his bday. Both of us loved it, we did use his rifle i think for one game but realised it wasnt as fun as using the sites aeg's also it drew a few under the breath comments and snickers from the sites regulars so we left that in the car for the rest of the day. We were both buzzing after the day had finished. Needless to say 9 months later we attend that site once a month, i bought us decent weapons and army surplus kit to use, and I take a couple of his school mates with us, theres usually quite few kids on site some regulars and some that are just there for a bday or something. I do hear cod/bf3 mw2 mentioned a lot but thats just kids having fun. My point after all this is let the kids and there dads enjoy the day the way they want too, I'm forever helping some kid reload bb's or get dirt out of his muzzle or just generally pointing them in the right direction. This snobery I see onsight from the regulars/members towards some kids/ppl because they got cheap sh1t equipment and no clue how to use it annoys me, cast your minds back to when you first started and think how it was. I love it when i hear kids all buzzing about something they did or saw ingame, by the way that bright orange sniper rifle is now fully upgraded and shooting regular at 480-495fps with a matte olive colour paint job, it looks the part and shoots the part.

Agreed, there's a definite undercurrent of elitism on here and on every airsoft forum really about so called CoD softers. They're just kids who get a bit excited about getting to hold guns and shoot at people. Only time it should ever be a problem is when they cheat, e.g. "I'm on last stand" etc.

Really though, get over yourselves guys, you run about in the woods dressed like a soldier and shoot people with a BB gun. So do CoD softers, they just get excited about it for a different reason.

Nail. Head. End of thread.

Ho thank god :)

Thanks for this post mate.

I'm in the process of mirroring this exact post. My son goes paintballing (He's been a few times now) and saw people going to a different part of the site setting up to play Airsoft......he's been obsessed ever since, so much so he got me into it.

In December I will be attending my first Skirmish & although everyone i've spoken to face to face seems very friendly & welcoming people to the hobby, the basic comments about noobs on forums seems be almost the opposite.

I'm now looking for a site that allows kids as young as 11 but I really do worry about how we will be received if we dont talk the talk etc. We will go & see what this is all about but threads like this makes you think twice.
