Warhammer 40k

I used to for the last stand mode but stopped a while ago I'm afraid

I happened to buy a 6th edition box set last weekend, probably going to ignore the dark angels but the chaos marines are pretty awesome. Will definitely be spending a bit of time on them, getting them all night lorded up!

Previously I've only done imperial armies, 2 project logs below:

Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard army (still WIP, after nearly a year!!) http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=248708

Red Scorpions (my paint for fun army) http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=213676

Having just finished reading IA11, The Doom of Mymeara I am very interested in restarting, will have to get the 6th ed rulebook and stuff and get learning again.

Aiming to build up to an apoc Eldar army- shame their codex is still from the end of 4th ed if I remember correctly... wouldn't mind an update on that :D

might pick up a few bits over the next few weeks to see what's what.

Space marines, Tau, Tyranids, Orks, Chaos SM/Daemons... I have quire a lot of stuff  not all of it made

Have a look at the Forgeworld Horus Heresy stuff, and read the Horus Heresy Novels- you won't regret it! :D

thread revival :)

my colection:

imperial guard: 70 imperial guardsmen, 3 russ's, 2 chimeras, 2 basilisks, 4 sentinels, 3 command units, a baneblade, a valkyrie. grey knights: 5 purifiers, 5 paladins, inquisitor Coteaz, 15 inquisitorial henchmen. space marines: 30 marines, 1 ironclad dreadnought, 1 whirlwind, 5 terminators and a chapter master. tau: 24 kroot, 24 firewarriors, 1 hammerhead, 2 devilfish, 3 battlesuit command team, 6 stealth suits and 2 broadsides. I am most likely forgetting something.

looking good!

Here's the de-facto leader of my much neglected toy soldier army:

And his sidekick:

Both have been re-based since those photos were taken and having looked at them I'm seriously tempted to get the paints out of storage and do some more!

Thanks :) My painting's far from great, but I'm better at painting flesh than armour.

I gotta say I've wandered into your topics over on the B&C a few times before, and am always impressed with your painting. Especially your Red Scorps army, something I can just stare at for ages.

thanks dude, I'm thinking of breaking out the brushes again soon ish and maybe doing a bit more for the red scorpions... need to finish off the blood angels first though!

I used to collect Warhammer 40k when I was younger, then moved to Warhammer and a bit of The Lord of the Rings they did. I keep thinking I may get some more as I was pretty good at painting them, but its so expensive these days

Before I got into airsfot, I used to colelct and paint Imperial Guard soldiers, I waanted to change the colour scheme to something... different for my Shock Troops which use valkyries as transport.

Wow, they are looking VERY dusty

I had some Space Marines when I was 9/10. I kept wanting to collect others like Chaos and Tau though because they looked cool :L

I have played for years but in the last week cleared my hobby room of an estimated £10,000 worth of minatures and equipment becuase I just can't enjoy 6th edition. In fifth I was a regular tournament player and even in the major ones where you got members of the home countries teams I came mid table but I find 6th really awkward and slow.It also doesn't help that GW systematically shut down my club so we have nonone to play with anymore.

Sticking to blood bowl for the next couple of years, far better game, rules are free and don't change every 2 years and you can have a new team for leass than 20 quid.

i used to collect imperial guard, mostly for the building and painting. i had a mad urban camo scheme, and i was getting really good at it, but then sold it all as i moved away :/
