VFC 417 trigger group assembly

Picked up a VFC 417 and switched over the receiver and now the safety doesn't work. I Can't see what I have done wrong or how the safety actually engages hammer/trigger and can't find any assembly guides. The manual exploded diagram is not giving any clues. Can any one offer some advice, possible some pictures of trigger group in place?

 
Replaced the safety because it was worn and missing one of the levers. No change. I installed it with the hammer down, but once again once I put it into safe the trigger releases the hammer, however there is no movement after the hammer is released. Please some one got any ideas what I am doing wrong before I replace every part?

 
Unfortunately I don’t have a 417 no more otherwise could have sent you some internal pictures.

I’ll look in my 416 as I assume there not too dissimilar.

 
So to up date it's something to do with the lower receiver. If I fit everything into the black lower receiver I have the safety doesn't engage. However if I put the internals in a tan lower receiver the safety works. I am at a loss. I can't see any difference between the receivers.
