Tippmann M4 Carbine

It should already take any aeg mag when running on hpa so no need to buy any if you already have an M4 aeg!

I do see what you are saying Ed, but with only 80 BBs in a mag and it only firing 80 BBs to a cartridge, if you've already fired enough BBs to warrant a mag change you'll not be wasting much CO2. I only ever fire on semi even when running hi-caps on my hpa G5 except for shits and giggles, my RM4 has 60 round mags and I seldom need to do a tac reload!

It is a valid point for some, but not sure it would be an issue for myself. Am still in two minds about getting one due to an ex-paintballer and fellow airsofter not having a high opinion of Tippmann paintball guns. Am not going to pre-order after the pain in the butt the Evo 3 purchase turned out to be and from what I have heard this is continuing to have it's launch delayed. I'll wait for some reviews from actual skirmishers rather than take the word of retailers promoting what is currently (from the vids I've watched) still a prototype gun.

So using the CO2 capsule option, does removing the mag vent the whole capsule? If thats the case I'm surprised they didn't fit a valve which closes to the mag. Even my ASG CZ75 has a valve that closes when the mag is removed so only a tiny amount is lost during mag changes.

If so it'd run expensive if games meant frequent returns to the safe Zone, though as said not such an issue for long milsim games.

yes as the system stands you will vent the remaing CO2 in the mag if you remove to before its empty, from what i understand the point is to keep the mags as cheep as possable i.e. they were talking about $10-20 a mag, even a simple check valve would probably at least double the price.

Of course we are assuming a CO2 capsule is good for more than 80 shots,. They may have picked 80 as that's the amount of usable gas. how many shots does a DW get to a capsule?

These have them in stock and state uses a standard AEG barrel.

yup is a standard AEG barrel. Seems odd that even Tippmann USA don't have any in stock yet but a UK paintball store is saying they do???

a mate has just ordered one and said I can have a go when he gets it. Shall let you all know what I think when I have and if I have placed an order! :D

I like the idea of gas cartridges in mags, as that seems like it would add a very realistic feel to changing mags, as is the case with GBBs, but with more consistency to the shots. However, I'd be less enamoured with the notion of carrying a bottle around in a backpack and having a high pressure line attached to my rifle; I think it'd feel a bit too much like being a WW2 M2 flamethrower operator on some Pacific Island. It would limit your movement too much as well, and it's a step away from having a realistic appearance to your weapon with it having a compressed gas line coming off the bottom of the thing.

Saw one of these in Ammo Drop yesterday, he should be getting a larger amount in over the weekend.

the loss of power from the Co2 mag is large, with variations from 320 down to 285 in the last few rounds.. however, with a HPA rig for it costing less than £100 as the regulator is in the gun, it is a very nice piece of kit to say the least.

If anyone is going to the North V South Stirling event this weekend I know a guy is taking his with him... he may let you have a look :)

on CO2 is it say over 328 or 350 for say first 30 or so rounds ??

in other words a bit hot like many CO2 pistols are with fresh bulb

hence me saying Green Gas or Butane might be a more wiser or better option

(paintball may not be ultra strict on chrono/fps but some sites like mine are very strict)

yup CO2 option is good to have but think I would just take an old aeg backup if HPA runs out

so think keep the HPA gun simple and drop price a bit and would be more attractive to me

compared to a P* these are in the region of 500 quid cheaper... no need to splash out on a regulator etc.. I am waiting to see how it performs this weekend, as i am interested to see how many mags he gets out of a Gas Tank..

Yeah, I'd never show up to a skirmish without a back up, and especially when running a gas gun. GBBs are nice, and good fun, but they're a bit like a fancy thoroughbred horse, impressive but often temperamental. I don't trust GBBs enough to use one without a back up, and the back up is always an electric gun, especially at this time of year when nearly every gas gun is all over the place in terms of consistency and reliability.

If these do take off, I can see me getting some Air bottles in so we can refill tanks on site...

Literally just about to order one of these, so far the reviews I've seen are good, plus it sounds awesome xD

let me know what you think of it when it turns up and if you know anywhere in the world selling the CO2 mags! :-)

I'll be getting it delivered tomorrow :)

Been told no co2 mags until january
