I did post these in the ‘guns’ thread but for gratuitous viewing

These 2 are mine…

Probs going to get a different suppressor like a hex or Novs Osprey but all in all i think that was a bargain!

I have that too but fancy the earlier suppressor as 'Gun Jesus' showed in one of his vids.

2nd parcel from the continent arrived today, so in another episode of "Impulse wanting to be a unique little snowflake" I present the other half of my non-English heritage, and the country I actually lived (and played airsoft!) in for about 6 years...

Good news is, the woodland trousers pictured fit with (a lot of) room to spare. Leg is a tiny bit too short (I really need 33" or 34", these are standard 32"), but around the waist and the quads it fits with room to spare which isn't always the case for me as I have always had very big legs; I will 100% need to wear a belt or these are falling down though. The keychain was a "spend €100 for a free gift" thing, and the paracord bracelet + flag patches were to nudge my order over the threshold.

Bad news is, the desert stuff (not pictured) isn't going to fit in a million years. It's not worth returning as they were €50, and the return cost will likely creep up to around €20 or so with postage + their international return policy, so I'll probably flog the desert stuff at a car boot sale. I found some more desert stuff that -should- fit, but it's expensive and honestly I never really wear tan kit anyway, so that can wait.

Very happy the woodland trousers fit though, as I'll actually use them; probably even this weekend! Will pick up combat trousers and a combat shirt at some point too, but not super important as I tend to avoid going all one pattern and like to mix camo trousers with a solid top and vice versa.

Always good to see people wearing something different to the usual sea of multicam and MTP

Me and the friend I pair up with often are of the same mind too. He likes his M05 Finnish camo because it works well in UK woodlands and nobody else uses it, and I went with camo from countries I have ties to but are uncommon in the UK, hence I've settled on Dutch NFP and Spanish M09. The downside of using rare camos is that buying it is a pain and you generally have to go to the source country, which often entails import fees and international shipping charges. Worth it in my eyes though, because I'm a gear tart 😂

I have:
German Flecktarn
British DPM
Finnish M62
Swedish M90
French CCE
Ukrainian Dubok
Swiss Vierfruchtpyama (Alpenflage)
East German Strichmuster
Italian Vegetato

I'm too vanilla with my cam for now... DPM, French DPM (if there is such a thing), DDPM, lots of MTP, commercial MTP, Olive PLCE, UCP/OCP Molle, Salisbury Plain muddied 58 Pattern webbing & some Flectarn.
& it's often worn at the same time.

I use:
Tigerstripe,
All terrain tigerstripe,
DPM,
Desert DPM,
Blue Opfor DPM.

I've also got a set of Russian RAST-R but I don't tend to wear it that much anymore

Tiger stripe, MC tropic, olive green, Chinese type 81, partizan, and Tan&Water for me! I have an aversion to mtp/multicam+ to be completely honest, it's too pale for the sites I frequent.

I like to mix n match between

MTP
MTP dark
Tigerstripe
Tigerstripe arid
Swedish M90
Choc chip
DNC
And a bit of Ranger Green sprinkled in for good measure

Managed to get this from a guy who bought a joblot but didn't want to take the time to fix it and sold it as boneyard. The guy selling it didn't include much of a description about it or what parts were in it but he did note that the CO2 part was leaking which likely turned people off it. I saw the regulator and guessed it had an SDIK inside so I bought it. Turns out it's a JG Bar-10 with a Mancraft SDIK and the old MARS CO2 system+regulator. Here's the issues;

1. The original seal for the CO2 has perished and Mancraft discontinued their CO2 systems a long time ago - so much so they can't even sell me a new seal and could only give advice about making a new one for it. Currently, I don't intend to use the CO2 system as I read they were (mostly) unreliable so I bought an Amped AGL from HPAUK (only received after their shipping disaster was resolved). Might have a look at getting the CO2 working some time down the line just for fun.

2. Originally, this was covered in that camo vinyl rifle wrap that people cover their stuff in but I hate it, so I removed it. The problem was that it left sticky residue all over the rifle. The residue came off the metal parts easily enough, but the stock is a nightmare - i've used several different methods and products to get it off but there's some still left that's proving difficult. I might just have to spray it with a light coat of sealant. The outer barrel and receiver are all dinged up from usage. Not sure if I'll re-paint it or just leave it and see if I can't get replacements in the future. I tried swapping the internals into another, less junk, stock that I have but there's an issue with compatibility as the mags were loose and wouldn't feed so I swapped it back into the original.

3. The optic rail was only secured with one screw and a zip tie. God knows how the previous owner hit anything with this moving all over the place - replaced with a Maple Leaf blue bubble level optic mount and new hardware.

4. The 2x stock screws were not factory standard and too large. Replaced with correct screws from Maple Leaf.

5. Part of the trigger guard is snapped/missing around the screw due to how the engines hose has been routed - not a big deal, just need to replace it in the future.

6. Safety lever is missing.

It did come with an Action Army hop unit which I replaced with a TTI Airsoft hop unit + TDC as well as a SniperMechanics Noir 70 degree bucking and a omega style nub. It also came with a stainless full length barrel despite being a G-spec so it runs into the suppressor a few inches. Luckily it came with extra barrel stabilisers which locks the inner barrel down pretty good. The rifle also came with an AirsoftPro gen 5 (IIRC) trigger - still not sure why the safety is missing as it does come with one.

Tested the rifle from a HPA bottle and it's shooting the limit on 0.45g BBs at 100PSI. It doesn't sound like the engine is leaking but I bought a spare o-ring kit just in case. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the stock to route the 4mm hose out to the AGL and it sites nicely under the shoulder when connected plus I used the straps of the stock pouch to keep it from swinging around too much. Just need to get it to the field to check how good the shot-to-shot consistency is on HPA.

It's an Ares, can't comment on it's game use or longevity, but generally Ares is trashed to varying degrees.
I bought mine in 2016. It needed a fair amount of work to get it to the level that I wanted. It is poorly designed, badly constructed and quite a lot of it appears to be made of cheese.

I have a box containing a spare gearbox shell and loads of other parts that seem too weak to survive.

Alongside that, I have another complete gun that I bought for a stupidly cheap price, that I will use as a donor gun if needed.

Despite all its faults I love it because it is an L1A1.
