Would anyone want to have 2 main groups/squads in the team? Ie a special, elite squad made up of good, regular airsofters, and then a support group for everyone else, who may not have as much experience yet?

Just an idea, so that everyone in their own squad can rely on each other and be an asset as opposed to a liability?

Sorry to butt in, i know my opinion may count for nothing as I'm not involved with your team but,

I'd feel a bit pushed aside if I was in the support group, maybe you shouldn't name it the "elite squad" more an Alpha and bravo i.e alpha will flank while bravo lays support fire in the main fire fight that way everyone is respected and there role isn't generic.

Just a thought.

PM me if you want this post deleted as again I'm not affiliated with your team :)

we have no problems with others posting here at all, think Tesco: 'Every little helps'

TBH, the 'other' 'softers know we are better than them, and they seem to accept it (except will, but we all know about him) I'm sure that they wouldn't feel too dishartened as if we the 'elites' play as a squad all the time, we get to know our foibles, strengths and weaknesses, so we know what we can or cannot achieve as a team, having a support squad for us to command would be a great asset, we can send them on slightly suicidier objectives that we feel our time, ammo or skills would be wasted on when we could be sneaking at a harder objective.

just my 2 cents.

makes it seem that the second team is just canon fodder :)

In our team we have an Alpha and a Bravo. Alpha are obviously the experianced lot. Anyway we do training sessions and stuff and part of alpha's job is to train Bravo.

actual training you say?

Joe (the Leprechaun) has this idea that if we drop them in the deep end often enough, eventually they will learn to swim, so It's usually 'us' V 'them'

any training techniques?

I think calling some of them cannonfodder is a bit much. Some of them can't even do that properly

Still, calling us the elites seems to me like arrogant knobby behaviour. Call them the support group by all means, but Elites is a bit off imo. Perhaps...specialists? Head Quarters (since us 3 are the HQ)? Or just 'The Guards' since atm, us three are the only members of the team who actually bother to check in?

If we're still going on the team rosta we set, that still means I'm either with you, or on my own. I'd rather not be in a permenant team, as I've trained to work on my own, or as a deployable support asset. Allows for flexibility.

We've tried drills before. People either get bored with it, or it becomes a "look at me shoot the longest and accurately" game.

we do CQB in my stables and clear out set up targets as a team with a timer, thats usualy the best one. We also do this pepper potting drill with a smoke grenade (moving up using covering fire). A stealth drill which is mainly just for fun buts still pretty good. An observation one which is quite pointless unless you do some really hardcore Milsims where you lie in a bush for the rest of your life :P

Then theres the obvious stuff like target practice and running in the woods i live near by. target practice reacion tests are good where you have to shoot when told and switch to your pistol and suff. But at the end of the day training is just an exuse to have fun, don't take it too seriously and have a laugh. :D
