(Sorry to be this guy :() BF3 Recon loadout.

So guys, been looking around for some new kit (well, really a whole new loadout) and a few nights ago while playing BF3 I had a Eureka moment. I was playing the Recon class and when I was customizing my loadout in game I realised that the gear the Recon wear's in game would actually be quite good for Airsoft. I was thinking to go into a it using this kit:

Whats your opinions on this style of loadout, again, I apologise for being that guy who copies a video game

Lets be honest we are all copying someone/thing by "playing" soldier in the woods.

I think games are a half decent reference point for overall looks of kits and a good base to build from.

Cheers guys, was expecting some form of slagging tbh. PS, this is only a prototype at the moment, if i can get all the gear together and worry about the gun and spare mags last it will be good, also will be getting some other pouches for the WSH*

I'm a very live and let live person anyway but I see no problem with people doing video game impressions.. people do movie impressions and military impressions all the time! Imagine going along to a Tier 1 event and LOLing at all the people dressed up as soldiers, you'd look like a right mong!

Nothing wrong with basing it off a game. I have a Black Mesa Security getup from Half Life

Maybe look a bit odd at a serious event i.e. milsim but hey, we're all not at a milsim every weekend.

Although it's one of those loadouts that doesn't exactly stand out in the crowd of loads of other "soldiers".

I've been trying to identify the vest/cr that the US Recon wear's in BF3 and the closest I can find is the WSH but if anyone knows what the actual Rig is please don't hesitate to tell me!

that said the WSH doesn't have any side coverage so probably isn't the 'right' vest to wear. Also, you'll need to source some cool skeleton hand gloves!

I did see some pretty sick skeleton gloves but i'm pretty sure they were for bike racing?

USMC Recon in the game is wearing a PACA with an Eagle RRV over the top. CAT and strobe on the left shoulder. Any triple shingle with press-stud closer will do, Eagle admin on the chest, small horizontal GP and a pistol mag pouch on the front of the shingle. Couple of double STANAG mag pouches next to the shingle, one with the lid tucked in. Ranger plates on the magazines.

Not sure what the weird bag is on his leg, looks like DICE might've made it up.

Cheers Chris, I've been trying to google the image for the Recon in game to see a full 360 view of him lol.

As for the Leg rig, I could probably improvise with a Flyye drop-leg accessories pouch as it looks pretty similar.

Eagle Industries originals cost a couple of hundred dollars and you'd have to get one from the US most likely, but as I mentioned there's tons of rigs around that use the same basic design:

For the US recon its a shemagh for headgear (have to tie it DEAAD tight unless you're prone most of the time)

The eyewear is the V12 ESS goggles (On issue to UK troops I believe?)

Baselayer is an Underarmour style top in OD or army green or whatever, cadet direct does them in hot weather moisture wicking versions and cold weather thermals both are skin tight to show off the guns for the airsoft-ettes lads

Over this is a T-shirt which matches the pattern of your trousers. For comfort and casual play I'd recommend a dri-flo style moisture wicking T-shirt especially in the summer months, for milsim purposes I'd recommend a cotton T-shirt, I personally use one that has bicep pockets with Velcro fronts for Dublin flags

Recon wears a PACA vest but any plate carrier will do

Going on appearance the chest rig is an RRV with the admin panel folded down and the back straps in an X cross configuration (Personally have the admin panel up for flag rank slider and nametag). Pouches are (from left to right)  Two lightstick, one in package one out of. Triple M4/5.56 with press stud closure and molle on front (any closure will do) the pouch in front of it could be a GP pouch or it could be (given the recon role as a sniper and the characters lack of sniper magazines) a fold out stripper clip pouch. As said before the other pouch is a pistol mag pouch. Clipped onto the front of the mag pouch is an M67 frag although you can put any frag on really. Next its an M4 pouch that'll hold two 5.56 mats with flap closure. Next over is a pistol holster for your sidearm.

Left shoulder has a C.A.T on top and an IR strobe at the bottom

Left arm he wears a Garmin foretrex 301 maybe 401?

An OD paracord bracelet

Gloves, seen these on eBay and amazon, leather palm suede outer, own a pair, they're pretty decent

A digital watch (I prefer analogue) looks like a Casio G shock

Radio headset looks like a Z tactical Contac II but can't see a PTT or radios( would attach PTT on right shoulder linked to radio in internal pouch of chest rig or mount your own external radio pouch

Probably a normal military trouser belt but the leg pouch? Closest thing I could find is the M17 gas mask pouch used by america in the gulf? More than likely is a dice fabrication.

Boots look like meindl desert pros? Any tan boot will do although if you are in a woodland area (most likely) I'd use black high neck boots.
