Well, after a few hoops, my shotgun certificate came through today, woohoo!

Anybody else shoot real steel?

Been meaning to give it a go, but HS2 will wipe out my local gun club and they aren't taking new members.

Cheers

I had a SGC for occasionally transporting and shooting black powder muskets back in the day, along with a locker that never had anything in it.  It does make me laugh when folk whinge that we're a disarmed society, given that shotgun certificates are shall-issue.

Trivia: you can now own a smoothbore cannon up to 50mm/2".

Heck yeah I'm going to be shooting at clays tomorrow. Just gotta decide which gun to use lol

I shoot very occasionally these days but when I do its usually on behalf of my friend whos a game keeper for a fairly large estate. Generally if I do get it its clays and targets these days but have done my fair share of pest control for the local farmers who rent off the estate.

I used to shoot a lot - mostly pistol - but the local clubs in my area are all run by old fogeys in tweed who don’t want to have to look at anyone under 50.

I don't have a FAC but I am a member of our local skeet club, every 2/3 weekend I go down and it's reasonably priced too. £45 for the day + £7 for 25 .28g cartridges and extra clay's starting from £7.50.

A lot more sensible than my first gun :D  What is it? Looks like a Browning/Miroku action with double triggers

It’s a Laurona O/U 12 gauge with double trigger

Not expensive, but a good start??
