evening all.

just wondering if there is any such thing. heard someone mention it at the weekend but i couldnt find the chap who supposedly had one. any info on them?

thanks

Smokes use a solid fuel that burns. Once it's burnt it's gone, much like your car running out of fuel.

They also burn hot, so having it reusable would be a risk to burning your own hands.

At the absolute best, you may get a double use grenade (not saying they exist as I'm certain they don't, but it could be feasible to make if not completely daft and pointless).

The tube could have a petition in it so you have a smaller fuel cell and means of igniting at both ends - but again, seems pretty pointless to me.

yeah i thought it was abit iffy i heard someone at the breifing say there was a reusuable smoke and not to pick it up other than himself. but the site doesnt allow home made so was confused

You can buy handheld portable smoke machines, but they are quite expensive. This is one of the smallest and £809 plus VAT https://www.bloodystuff.co.uk/products/micro-profogger/

I have also seen people post guides on making a smoke machine from an e- cigarette. No idea how effective that would be on a field though. Like this one https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Smoke-Machine-from-Ecig-clearomiser/%3Famp_page%3Dtrue

Not sure how you could have a reusable pyro though. Unless you are just recycling the case?

not sure maybe capsules you insert? no idea clearly isnt a thing

can't quite see the point in a reusable smoke grenade, smoke is used to mask a tactical position change so generally you'd be moving away from it so you'd not be able to pick it up without being in the line of fire.

yeah i see but cqb itd be helpful to move to a new position and reclaim it later or push past it?

the gaol does which is my local :) few others ive been to does also

Most sites I know of with a CQB environment allow:

Smoke in open - screening / cover / distraction

Smoke in a room - toxic, 9 seconds to get out or be killed

Literally never heard of the toxic smoke rule. Sounds ridiculous and unenforceable.

Can only use smokes outside however after a few normal grenades have gone off it gets pretty smokey. but they do like to use their own smoke machines down corridor's as well

Never been to anywhere close-ish quarters that allowed smokes myself either.

Even if a reusable grenade did exist (and it doesn't), would those smoke generating cartridges cost any less than normal disposable cardboard pyro smokes? Highly doubtful.
