Any motor that can run on an M90 should be able to pull an M110, but we're talking VFC here so anything's possible. Sounds to me like the problem lies elsewhere though, does it work OK if you put the old spring in?

 
Considering that VFCs are set to run 400fps springs and come to the UK/Italy with a weak ass M80 inside, I'd say there's definitely something wrong with the gearbox/motor.

Could be the motor not being at the correct angle so it locks up. Maybe when you swapped springs you moved something or slightly misaligned the gearbox.
