Question regarding UKARA

Right I don't know what to do now, From what I've been reading 'JustCos' seems dodgy? As I've said before I don't want to break the law that's not my intent, my intent is to potentially save some money renting kits at my local event, Feel like I'm stuck in a way now
There is no major drama - all you want to do is play, and you are entitled to do so.

No retailer would be committing an offence in selling to you.

Purchasing is not an offence

JustCos is dodgy, but that’s their problem, and it’s a major stretch to say that the retailer would get caught and bring you into a conspiracy charge.

Personally it’s a waste of £20 of your money to pay for JustCos in order to buy something that you can legally buy

Do a Google search for airsoft guns to find more UK retailers, choose your weapon and try to check out.

I’m not going to tell anyone what one, but (the last time I looked) one retailer has a tick box where most others would have a box for you to type in a UKARA number etc

1) You won’t be breaking the law as a RIF purchaser as your intent is to play ‘airsoft skirmishing as an insured site’

He wouldn't be breaking the law if his intent was to oil it up and finger the mag release all night long, since (at 18+) there's no offence being committed by purchasing and so no defence, declaration or intent needed by the buyer.

Fraud or conspiracy, eh, maybe, but it'd be a huuuuuge stretch and it's never, ever going to be prosecuted unless the RIF has already been used for extreme naughtiness.

but (the last time I looked) one retailer has a tick box

Their site seems to be down at the moment, very sadness.

That ‘free’ options gone then, and with a quick search around ….. under new management, associated to a site and both airsoft & paintball web shops closed

Aside from all the questions & answeres, The gun I'm looking at is the GBB MP7, anyone have one? If so how are they

What brand are you looking at?

I don't have personal experience of them. Owners can be observed to have huge grins on their faces when they're gassed just right and cycling properly, but I wouldn't get one as a first-and-only gun.  Mags are eye-wateringly expensive, and gas is more expensive to run versus just slapping mid or high caps into a basic AEG and hosing.

We always recommend renting and playing at least once first before buying anything, as you may find that the reality of playing airsoft doesn't match the YouTube promises.  The classifieds are full of "never skirmished" regret purchases.

I know renting appears to be a waste of money if you can get what you want by non-UKARA means, but there's a lot going for it.

Main point is you'll find out if you actually like the sport, you'll lose more selling a once skirmished RIF than it'll cost you to rent. There are others, like chatting to other people about their RIFs and maybe getting to hold a few to see what feels right and spending time learning about what you're planning to get - what do you need to service it etc.

Me? I've another game tonight and then my next one will by my 3rd (well 5th but let's not get into that) then I'll be sorted for UKARA and spending the cash I've saved up while getting the games in.

I've had 3 of 4 RIFs in pole position to be my first but I think I've now settled on something that I like the look of and is hopefully not built of cheese - that said I've been making the most of being able to buy accessories and kit without UKARA ?
