As per title, trigger is absolutely fine, sear is in tact, I'm also using PSS2 piston. I've checked that the sear engages with the piston, and it does, just when everything's fixed together it decides that it doesn't want to work. Any suggestions? I'm thinking that the bolt isn't going back far enough for the piston to go past the sear to make it engage, but I'm not sure.

How did you check if the sear is engaging?

return spring snapped?

trigger guard too tightly screwed in place?

screw to the rear of the magwell too tight?

Yeh, the bottom two PT247 said were what I was going to suggest - that's why I was asking how you tested :D A lot of people overtighten and strip the receiver screw holes or just seat the sear slightly too high for some pistons.
