Possible paint removal advice.

Gooood evening all.

I have finally managed to tame my TM MP7A1

In a previous thread you guys helped me with it being too high Joulage when it was warm, a Jaegar NPAS fixed it.

Now that I have decided to not give up on the thing i have been deciding if I want to keep its current camo or try and remove it and get back to black.

Here's what its like right now.


The guy i bought it off seems to have done a decent job the paint is decent and does not wear off at all. Its started to chip slightly on the mags but on the abs plastic its on there firmly.

Let's say I did was to possibly remove this paint job what should I use so I dont damage the plastic?

I know camo paint jobs is a massive preference but do you think I should remove or could it make things worse?

I recently used a product called Biostrip 2.0 to strip paint off of a mate's polymer m4. Took a few passes but it removed 99.9% of the paint, and only mildly discoloured the plastic underneath, which was returned to black with some light spraying and matt varnish. Took a while but he was happy.

Edit: This stuff may also remove the paint from your selector markings as well, just something to bear in mind.

Acetone free nail varnish remover has always worked well for me .

I’ve always used petrol
I found acetone did do the job eventually, but it was tediously slow!
Petrol won’t damage the plastics or the metal, and it won’t damage the original paint on the metal parts of the mags
Obviously, it’s a job for outdoors. But it works incredibly well
