IMAX B6 is the charger of choice. Beware clones/ copies, but even they generally still work OK.

Don't run lipos completely flat. As soon as they start to drop off then swap to a new one.

Don't leave them discharged. Charge them at 1C as soon as practicable if they're nearly flat. 1C for a 1450mah battery = 1.45A, so 1.4 or 1.5A on your charger at 7.4v (2s) will be fine.

If you're going to store them for any length of time then leave them at about 60% of total capacity.

Lipo charging bags, fire proof containers, don't leave them charging unattended... All good ideas. If you look after them an explosion /fire is unlikely, but still possible, so better safe than crispy and homeless.

You'll find the Nuprol batteries aren't that great, and although rated at 1450mah,if you run them until the voltage starts to sag then they will only have discharged around 1000-1100mah. Your smart charger will tell you how much charge the battery has accepted.

Read the instructions for the charger, and use the balance charge feature. That's what the skinny little lead is for. It will make sure both the cells are at the same voltage (balanced) which is good for battery life. When the battery is new you don't need to use this every time, but as they get on a bit it's worth doing more often. If nothing else it'll give you an indication if one of the cells is going bad and dragging the other one down with it.

Are there any recommended retailer for this charger please? Seeing quite a price spread.

I got mine from hobbyking the b6 doesnt come with a powerlead so had to order it seperately. Charger £20, 4 lipos at £15 each and the lead £10 and a tamiya adaptor for another few quid. All in all with shipping it was around £100
